Mehso-so

There are some good insights here, but you have to wade through a lot of crap, pandering, and excuse-making to find them. Basically, the author seems to think that being highly sensitive is somehow better and therefore everyone must adapt to treating the “HSP” with kid gloves at all times. I am highly sensitive, and several of my children are as well, and this is not usually practical or helpful. Review continued in comments.

Krisjericho The insights into why people are the way they are are good, and the basics of understanding another kind of person are helpful. You just have to be able to sift them out. 6y
merelybookish I'm pretty sure my youngest HSP and it's hard! He has a hard time with friends But based on your review, I don't think I'll read this book. 😉 6y

Mommy's little butterfly... She had fun at the trunk or treat on base but not so much at her dance studio's glow party. She was overwhelmed by the noise and eventually shut down so we left.
It's crazy how similar we are sometimes. I can't help but wonder if it's nature or nurture...

Sace Beautiful picture! Beautiful butterfly! 7y
mrsmarch So sweet! I think it‘s nature. I have a 250 year history of social anxiety in my family. It might have skipped a generation here or there but grandpa, mom and I all got it and possibly my older daughter but not the younger. 7y

mjdowens Oh so cute🤗 7y
EchoLogical @mrsmarch Yeah, you're probably right. She's such a gentle little soul, I worry about when she gets older. 7y
EchoLogical @mjdowens Thank you 7y
mrsmarch @EchoLogical I think if she knows you have the same struggles, she‘ll feel better knowing that Mommy truly does understand. That you‘ve lived it and survived and she can too. I‘m asking the school district to evaluate my older one for sensory integration issues, so she might be eligible for OT or accommodations that make it easier for her to survive in a highly sensory world. 7y
EchoLogical @mrsmarch So true. I remember feeling like my parents didn't understand and how frustrating that was. I hope the school district is helpful. I'm heard some horror stories from parents advocating for their little ones but I'm in Florida so that probably has a lot to do with it. 😔 7y
mrsmarch @EchoLogical 💗 hugs from Massachusetts! 7y

hgrimes I am no scientist, but it would surprise me greatly if there weren‘t genetic factors to things like introversion, shyness, and anxiety. 7y
