This is a wonderful look at into the work of Adam Savage. It‘s part memoir, part science, part shop talk. It was fun to hear him talk about creating. Even though I create in a much different way than him, I took a lot away from this lovely book. It‘s funny and uplifting, encouraging everyone to nurture their inner creator.

GingerAntics The subtitle made me a little nervous, but this isn‘t a book about thinking positive and more about creating whatever it is you create with wild, passionate, abandon. 1mo

Mother‘s Day free books haul!
We were on our way to my mom‘s and a neighbor had things out in their driveway with a “Free” sign. I spotted stacks of books and immediately pulled in. 😅 There was a good selection but either they weren‘t for me or I already had them. But these three! The tagged has been on my wishlist for a bit. I love that there are post-it bookmarks left in by the previous owner. I can spy what crafts caught their interest. 🤣

Ruthiella Nice haul! 👍 2mo

#CoverStories #Barn Spin wool , make cheese, make bricks ,cure bacon! My grandparents could make almost everything, I have always been interested in the old folkways. If we keep going the dystopian way we all may need books like this !

sarahbarnes I‘ve always been interested too. And agreed. 3mo
Eggs I can totally relate - my parents were born in 1910 and 1913, and were old-school self-sufficient! 3mo
Leftcoastzen @Eggs people didn‘t have much of a choice back then , no money to pay for it even if you could find people to do it 3mo

Eggs @Leftcoastzen I used to make soap, candles, bread, yogurt, clothing, slipper socks, scarves, quilts, grow gardens, can/preserve and more. But it‘s really rough on the hands and wrists!!! 3mo
Leftcoastzen @Eggs Wow , that‘s amazing ! Also, that‘s why people got worn out at a younger age . There wasn‘t alternatives . I helped my grandmother can , and we made butter together in a large jar size churn . Even she said , bread takes too much time ! I‘ll just buy it at the grocery store. Once it was readily available!😁 (edited) 3mo
Eggs @Leftcoastzen Awesome 👏🏻 3mo

Saw this on Facebook to make mini books. The crafters precut foam tape is at DollarTree, according to the post.

I‘ve been wanting to make mini books and then place them in a clear tree ornament.

Mercury Stardust is the Trans Handy Ma‘am on social media. Her DIY videos started showing up in my YouTube feed a few months ago. While I‘m not a renter, this books has helpful information in it for all. I like her message of “You‘re worth the time it takes to learn a new skill.”

Finished February 16, 2025.

TheBookHippie I like her so much. 4mo
