This classics has gone through a multitude of adaptation through different mediums, from stage performances to the film and this manga is no exception to being a beautiful adaptation. This manga works well as an introduction to the Victor Hugo novel as it avoids the dense parts of the original to focus on the bigger plot points of the story.

Such a great book! The story is absolutely beautiful and I loved the illustrations. Haven't read the original but after reading this manga version I'm tempted to read the original. Loved the characters especially Fantine, Cosette and Jean Valjean . 5/5

Manga Classics has several #classictographicnovel editions, and so far I only own this one. Still have to read the original Les Miserables, but saw the play years ago. #maylovesclassics

#AugustGrrrl #mercy One of my current reads is a manga version of Les Miserables, which is a story with a number of people asking for mercy but not always getting it. Here is Fantine trying not to be sent unfairly to jail.

Still enjoyed this one but think it could have been longer to add more of the plot and character development along the way. Les Mis is such a detailed story that it is hard to fit it into a 10 chapter manga.

I am making the Les Miserables manga copy sing song lyrics from the musical. they definitely got Marius's dopey look and Eponine's pitiful look down just right.

just kidding. Les Miserables is one of my favorite musicals (I've been in it twice) and the book is amazing (yes, I read the unabridged edition).

I approve of anything that encourages people to get into the classics
