'Nor should we forget Marmaduke Craddock, who produces paintings of birds of such liveliness and colour that you cannot help but smile. True, most of them are ducks, so no one will ever compare a Craddock with a Rubens, but he has his place. You will know what I mean when you see one of his ducks.' #duckquotes @DuckOfDoom

One of Marmaduke Craddock's pictures posted above!

4 1/2🌟

DuckOfDoom Paintings of ducks can be as masterful and pretty as any other piece of art!! 🦆🦆🦆 6y

@TrishB I'm 37% through the book and this is how many post-it notes I've used so far!

I may be slightly biased though as this period of history is when my Master's degree in 18th century literature starts.

TrishB Sign of a good book though 👍🏻 6y

Every holiday we get a new audiobook to listen to - mostly to go to sleep to! This is the choice this time and I‘m enjoying it a lot so far.

This sentence...🤔. Makes me happy for ridiculous and very vulgar reasons 😜😝🤣

mjdowens 😳🤢 8y
gossamerchild @mjdowens yeah, it is kind of gross in any context. Apparently they used to distill chickens. To make liquor. Who knew? 🤷🤢 8y
mjdowens Hhhmmm...what a great cold killer right? Chicken liquor. 😂😂 8y

jenniferw88 I attended a talk with this author a few weeks ago - yes you are allowed to laugh as we were chuckling! 😂 8y
gossamerchild @jenniferw88 that's awesome! Was/is he a good speaker? I bet it was fascinating. 8y
jenniferw88 @gossamerchild yes he is. He did it as an a-z of restoration britain but he kept losing his place in the alphabet 😂 8y

Okay, I've already been to England, but I would love to see Wales and Scotland (separate countries at this point, but ruled by the same king, according to Mortimer. I don't honestly understand the difference, but that's why I read!).

JenReadsAlot I went to Scotland and Wales last year - loved it! 8y
gossamerchild @JenReadsAlot oh, so jealous! I spent a semester in Ireland in college (in 2002), but never got to Scotland. Or Wales. 8y
JenReadsAlot I did Ireland and Scotland on one trip and then Scotland and Wales the next. It must have been awesome spending a semester there! 8y
gossamerchild @JenReadsAlot it was unbelievable. Loved it so much. It was a weird time to travel (4 months after 9/11) but definitely one of my favorite memories. 8y
