Jennifer Hillier amps up the terror of her truly frightening (Suspense Magazine) debut thriller, Creep, returning to the Pacific Northwest college town where one killers stranglehold has ebbed...but another sick mind emerges from the shadows. Sitting alone in a maximum-security prison cell, Abby Maddox is a celebrity. Her claim to fame is the envy of every freak on the outside: shes the former lover of Ethan Wolfe, the killer who left more than a dozen dead women in his wake and nearly added Puget Sound State professor Sheila Tao to the tally. Now Abby, serving a nine-year sentence for slashing a police officers throat in a moment of rage, has little human contactsave for the letters that pour in from demented fans, lunatics, and creeps. But a new wave of murders has given Abby a possible chance for a plea bargainbecause this killer has been sending her love letters, and carving a message on the bodies of the victims: Free Abby Maddox. Jerry Isaac will never forget the attackor his attacker. The hideous scarring and tortured speech are daily reminders that the one-time Seattle PD officer, now a private investigator, is just lucky to be alive. Abby Maddox deserves to rot in jailforever, as far as Jerrys concerned. But she alone may possess crucial evidenceletters from this newest killerthat could crack open the disturbing case. With the help of Professor Sheila Tao, seasoned police detective Mike Torrance, and intuitive criminology student Danny Mercy, Jerry must coax the shattering truth from isolated, dangerous Abby Maddox. Can he put the pieces together before Abbys number one fan takes another life in the name of a killers perverted idea of justice?

Another addictive thriller from Jennifer Hillier. This is the sequel to Creep and whilst some sequels in the past have disappointed me, this one certainly did not. It had me hooked again from the beginning, it was suspenseful, twisty, dark everything I love in a thriller. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐#jenniferhillier #freak #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #greatreads #thriller #bookqueen #litsy #amazonkindle

Better than book #1 Creep, but I definitely prefer her newer books (Jar of Hearts). At times it feels like the series was written for the male gaze (the heroine is addicted to sex and is of course gorgeous, female psychopath is sexy and bisexual), but I listened to them for free through the library and they did keep me reading (although I was close to dnfing Creep a few times).

The follow up to Creep & while still dark, twisty & a decent psychological thriller, for me it lacked the chills & surprises of the first book. Continues Sheila & Jerry's stories & involvement with Abby Maddox, which I liked, but some parts of the story lacked believability. I was expecting clever twists like in Creep & these just seemed more obvious & had me yelling at characters to smarten up. The ending was left open-perhaps for a third book?🤔

Arcana So, maybe I'll only read the first book! 🤔 6y
DebinHawaii @Arcana It could just be me. I looked and this one has part of a star more on Amazon. 😆 I'm glad I read it, I just thought the first book was stronger. 6y

When you eat dinner on the couch and you leave it for a minute it's fair game for investigation. Lucky for me, Max 🐱isn't a fan of veggie potstickers. He's disappointed it's not ahi.🐟😿
Knocking out a bit more of this thriller tonight. #wildsaturdaynight #catsoflitsy 😽❤️

#ReadingResolutions #celebrate Catching up on yesterday's prompt & this morning's coffeeshop breakfast pic. I thought there was reason to celebrate as the owner was prepping the food, but she had to take a call, a barista made it & once again my avo toast is over-drizzled. I did show her & she promised to do some training. The struggle is real! Tried to start this e-book as I finished 'Creep' but had to get busy on work-it's that kind of week.😬

VelvetSpade I‘m anxiously awaiting some “perfectly drizzled” avo toast... maybe next week 😘😘📚 6y
emilyhaldi Wow! This might be the most overly-drizzled yet! 😱 6y
