I really enjoyed Broken Beautiful Hearts. Contemporary YA romance is escapist reading for me, and I would like to read more, so if you can, I would love some recommendations.
Nice to be reading something that does not require much mental commitment. I feel like I have been reading a lot of Very Serious books and I need a break.

Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia is a sexy, heart-pumping thrill ride into the backwoods of Tennessee & the MMA circuit. This is a refreshing entry in the YA genre, which is often oversaturated with tropes & cliches. By bringing in MMA fighters to the dating game, Garcia has found a way to make this teenage love story feel dangerous & exciting. Perfect if you love a swoon-worthy love story with a touch of southern charm & a dash of rage.
This book was so good. It was my first book by Kami Garcia, and as it turns out, 2 of the books in my TBR pile are also by her. I can‘t wait to read those!
Peyton is a star soccer player and receives a offer from her first choice college to play on their team but her dreams are in jeopardy after an accident caused by her boyfriend.
I couldn‘t put this book down and flew through it. Peyton really grew as a character and I liked her interactions with her twin cousins and Owen. I think she was a very strong female character that wasn‘t just badass the whole time. She showed vulnerability.

Love this!
Also I love this cute cactus @hermyknee sent me in my letter. Thank you!

I‘m about a third of the way through this book right now, and I am loving it! It turns out I have two other books by this author in my TBR pile and didn‘t even know they were by her. I‘m definitely going to have to read those once I‘m done with this one.
Not my cup of tea. Wait-tea is good. This book is whatever would be in my cup if I dunked it into a backed up toilet. Stinky poo poo do do. I was waiting for something, anything to happen but it didn't. The 1st person POV is horrible. Writing style is amatuear. Characters were shallow and overdramatic. If it was a library book I would have stopped at chapter 3 but I bought it so I had to finish it. I near literally flushed my $ down the toilet.
As if this book isn't getting on my nerves enough....a cardiac arrest IS when the heart stops beating! I work in a cardiac unit. Please do thorough research before mentioning anything medical. Disappointing! I might just skim the last 50 pages to get this train wreck over with.
On Valentine's Day I soared through Broken Beautiful Hearts and loved it.
I was worried because I adored The Beautiful Creatures series and wanted these to be good too!
It also reminded me I have a copy of The Lovely Reckless on my TBR shelf, so my plan is to conquer it this weekend. TGIF!
To be honest, this one wasn‘t on my TBR list but I‘m glad I bought this on a whim. I was a little (well, more than a little) mad that her friends didn‘t believed her when she told the truth. The way people were acting towards her... it was actually kinda frightening. The most thing I liked about the main character was, that no matter what happened, she found a way to conquer her fears. Found a way to keep fighting no matter the circumstances.
A stand-alone YA romance from Kami Garcia. Nicely done.

Broken Beautiful Hearts is such an important and relevant book about abuse and teen dating violence that despite the dark topic still manages to be lighthearted and swoon-worthy! #amreading #BrokenBeautifulHearts #YA
I liked this book at the beginning but it quickly became ridiculous!
