Yesterday at work, I had the pleasure of a quiet moment spent reading this nonsense book. I became quite enamored with this spread.

I want the award this wonderful woman is wearing: “First, Last, & Always Prize.”

Rain Makes Applesauce is a caldecott honor, F, and could be used for a RA. It has rhymes that depict the beautiful images for students to think outside the box. It can be useful as an entry level book for poetry. UDL principal 6.3 Facilitate managing information and ESOL 15 Reinforce key ideas you present repetitively align with the book and activity perfectly. #LAE3414sp19

This is the cutest book ever. It‘s just silly talk and nonsense and doesn‘t have much of a plot, but this would be so great to have in a younger elementary classroom. So many things you could do with this book.

I love the detailed illustrations. They add to the plot of the story and give children an opportunity to truly explore and discover new things when viewing the pages. I love children‘s books that have incredible detail because then they are even more engrossed in the book.

Caldecott honor book, 1964. Imaginative story that is full of fun and silly talk. The pictures are vibrant and fill the pages, and the words flow across the pictures. Helps kid use their imaginations and think differently of the world

This F book makes a great CR for the class. It‘s all unrealistic nonsense such as rain making applesauce or stars being made of lemon juice, but it uses such creativity that kid‘s would love! It also won the Caldecott Award and the American Library Association Notable Book. The author of this lovely book is Julian Scheer and the creative illustrator is Marvin Bileck.

ally11301 This book gives a great opportunity to make or eat applesauce in the classroom as a snack.

This book touches UDL 7.1 and the ESOL strategy would be # 30.

This F book is a Caldecott award winner and great for CR. This silly book mentions many different imaginative things such as “My house goes walking every day” with the reoccurring phrase “and rain makes applesauce” on every page. UDL 7.1 Optimize individual choice and autonomy. ESOL 30. Encourage the use of diagrams and drawings as aids to identify concepts and seeing relationships. #UCFLAE4314F17

JanaLL This looks like super fun book to enjoy. The rain makes applesauce? Hee Hee! First choral reading strategy I have seen implemented on Litsy. Good job! 7y
DrSpalding Choral reading sounds just right for this particular title. Great choice. Sounds like the perfect opportunity to share some applesauce with the kids too!🍎 7y
