William Shakespeare Complete Plays
William Shakespeare Complete Plays | William Shakespeare
9 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
William Shakespeare: Complete Plays collects all thirty-seven of the immortal Bard's comedies, tragedies and historical plays. In this volume all of Shakespeare's memorable characters - star-crossed lovers, majestic monarchs, wise fools, lovable rogues, treacherous villains, conflicted heroes, cagey heroines and creatures magical and mythic - strut and fret their hour upon the stage. These characters and the roles they play, have influenced virtually all literature written since. For readers who appreciate the emotional power of the written word, the heights of humour and the depths of drama that can be encompassed by a single type of literature, William Shakespeare: Complete Plays is an indispensable collection of timeless masterpieces.

I received this beautiful illustrated set of Shakespeare‘s plays from the late 19th century for my collection this Christmas from @DoctorMirabilis1267 #Bookmas 📖📚🎄

While there‘s no publication date clearly marked, the illustrations have copyright dates of 1859-1861 and the front cover is stamped 1863 (though not a publisher marking).

Sneaky Cat‘s reaction to tonight‘s thunder suggests he is not a big fan of “The Tempest.” I think he‘d prefer a nap & “ A Midsummer Night‘s Dream.” #unhappykitty
