Manhattan Mayhem
Manhattan Mayhem: New Crime Stories from Mystery Writers of America | Mary Higgins Clark
6 posts | 7 read | 6 to read
Best-selling suspense author Mary Higgins Clark invites you on a tour of Manhattans most iconic neighborhoods in this anthology of all-new stories from Mystery Writers of America, produced to commemorate its 70th anniversary. In Lee Childs The Picture of the Lonely Diner, legendary drifter Jack Reacher interrupts a curious stand-off in the shadow of the Flatiron Building. In Jeffery Deavers The Baker of Bleecker Street, an Italian immigrant becomes ensnared in WWII espionage. And in The Five-Dollar Dress, Mary Higgins Clark unearths the contents of a mysterious hope chest found in an apartment on Union Square. With additional stories from T. Jefferson Parker, S. J. Rozan, Nancy Pickard, Ben H. Winters, Brendan DuBois, Persia Walker, Jon L. Breen, N. J. Ayres, Angela Zeman, Thomas H. Cook, Judith Kelman, Margaret Maron, Justin Scott, and Julie Hyzy, Manhattan Mayhem is teeming with red herrings, likely suspects, and thoroughly satisfying mysteries. Illustrated with iconic photography of New York City and packaged in a handsome hardcover, Manhattan Mayhem is a delightful read for armchair detectives and armchair travelers alike!

Bailedbailed

The 2nd book off of my TBR tomorrow, thanks to my #TBRDeckofCards ♦️ This one ended up being a bail for me after getting about 50% in. I liked two of the seven or eight stories I read so far, and really had to talk myself into picking the book back up, so I decided to just give it away, and pick my next card. My plan is to keep 3 cards in rotation at one time, for convenience. Today I pulled a 4♣️, which is Black Font.

♦️♦️ Oh hello #FourofDiamonds! I‘m ashamed to say how long this book has been on my shelf, and I always mean to read it during Scarathlon but I‘ve yet to read a single page. Thanks to the prompt of anthology/short story collection, I‘m finally going to dip into it. #TBRDeckofCards ♦️♦️

I'm a sucker for books based in New York, and a serious Mary Higgins Clark fan. This on is making it on the #LibraryWishlist

Have any of my fellow Littens read this book? Would you recommend? ❤️❤️

litznbooks I am a fan of the Queen of Suspense too. I haven't read this book yet but will add it on my stack. ❤ 7y

Pickpick

Great book of short stories that all take place in NYC. As usual, I liked some stories more than others. Some good authors including Lee Child, Ben H. Winters, and Jeffrey Deaver. #24in48

For Fun Friday Photo here's my baby girl, Sahara. (Quite a challenge to get her to hold still and look up...too many interesting smells to investigate in the backyard. We had fun trying though.) 🌸 😊
