14 posts | 6 read | 13 to read
Klarinda Snow is the innkeeper of a beautiful, historic bed and breakfast in Windy Pines, Idaho. Guests come to Mistletoe Manor to escape from their troubles while enjoying the scenic mountain town. When all seven rooms of the inn get booked on a Tuesday night in December, Klarinda is excited about having so much business, but a little confused as well. After all, her inn normally isn't exactly a destination hotspot. The guests have barely settled in before strange things begin happening. Is this the most accident prone group of travelers ever, or is someone out for revenge?

Mehso-so

I read this a few years ago but didn‘t remember what happened in the story. It was a little underwhelming and the ending felt a little rushed. I enjoyed it much better as a #BuddyRead. The cover is pretty.

#BuddyRead TeamReindeerGamers This is the last chapters and entry for our buddy read. I was perplexed, like I missed something. All of a sudden, Klarinda is in Mexico. Like the whole thing is over and did theynget Benji? She reads a letter, and then we know the culprit was Benji and why. After her holiday, Klarinda found the backpack with a note explaining everything and how she did it. To me, it was like the author got tired and rushed to end

JessClark78 The ending did feel rushed. That sudden jump to Mexico threw me off. I had to go back and check what I read last. 11mo
LiseWorks @JessClark78 Me too! I thought my Kindle had played a trick on me 11mo
kezzlou85 It was rushed. I'd like to know where she got the money for the trip as she didn't find the cash until later. 11mo
LiseWorks @kezzlou85 Exactly! Supposedly, there needed lots of work at the Inn. Maybe there was insurance to cover the damage. 11mo

#BuddyRead #TeamReindeerGamers Chapter 15-16 Klarinda goes to find a coat for the dog but ends up snooping only to not discover anything weird. Benji shows up, and klarinda explains that it's not safe for her to be there. But Benji becomes defensive and tells her she is not the boss of her. Klarinda takes the dog outside and discovers boot tracks in the snow to Christopher's car, and his duffel bag is in it. Suspicious? Later, both her and 👇

LiseWorks Myrtle discovered a box of invitations just like her guests received. @annahenke @kezzlou85 @JessClark78 @Karons1 @MatchlessMarie @aperfectmjk @TorieStorieS @Bluebird I will continue on December 27 . Have a very Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 😊 11mo

#TeamReindeerGamers #BuddyRead #WinterGames. A young officer who is questioning everyone is just not getting it. Someone refilled the bathtub, and now it has fallen through the ceiling. Christopher goes upstairs, claiming he is sick. How come he is sick. Did someone do something to those cookies? @annahenke @kezzlou85 @JessClark78 @Karons1 @MatchlessMarie @aperfectmjk @TorieStorieS @Bluebird

kezzlou85 Oh he was useless at his job. So only two left now. Could it be one is the killer or is there a mystery person we don't know about yet. 11mo

#BuddyRead #TeamReindeerGamers klarinda hears someone crying. Lannie tells her about her old roommate. Her roommate was gross, and she didn't like her. I think she feels guilty because that roommate killed herself, and then there is Jacob and Caroline in the bathtub faced down dead. What is going on? @annahenke @kezzlou85 @JessClark78 @Karons1 @MatchlessMarie @aperfectmjk @TorieStorieS @Bluebird

kezzlou85 More murder already. Klarinda is running out of guests. I'm guessing Lannie and her friends were crueler than she said. 11mo
LiseWorks @kezzlou85 Yeah, the murderer is moving fast. And yes, I think it has everything to do with the roommate. 11mo
kezzlou85 @LiseWorks maybe a family member of the roommate out for revenge 11mo
LiseWorks @kezzlou85 oh I suspect it is but which guest. I even think Myrtle might be involved lol. I find her bossy! 11mo

#TeamReindeerGamers our first 2 chapters of Murder at Mistletoe Manor. Intrigued? I know I am! We meet Klarinda, the owner, and her 2 member staff. The inn needs help repair and money wise. The first guest (Caroline) arrives, a snob to me. She informed Klarinda that she was sent an invitation through the mail. Tessa (2nd guest) walks in. The two know each other. Tessa also received an invitation. Who invited them?

kezzlou85 Sounds like something sinister is going on and I'm guessing the guests will all know each other or have a connection 11mo
LiseWorks @kezzlou85 I'm wondering the same thing. I believe they mentioned they both went to the same school. 11mo

Starting this one (thanks @Gissy !) while I can still read by my Christmas tree! 😍🎄

Klarinda owns a small b&b in a tiny remote town - on a Tuesday in December it is rare to have even one room booked. This Tuesday ALL the rooms are booked, by seemingly unrelated individuals. As the guests arrive with printed invitations (very Clue-like), Klarinda is even more mystified. And, just in time for a blizzard that is already closing the roads...

The surprise is how funny this is in an absurdly dry type of humor. Very subtle but quite amusing.

Good quick read. I wasn‘t sure what to expect, but once I started I couldn‘t put it down. It was a good Christmas murder mystery.
