These books are so dated (written in the 60‘s) but there is just something so nostalgic about them. I‘ll probably read a few more before I‘m done.

Second book in the series continues to feature the coziest of cozy mystery premises: an older, mustachioed, non abrasive reporter who gets every beat but the one he wants, paired with a crime-solving cat of discerning tastes, contrasted with a myriad of truly unfortunate remarks which might generously be considered a product of the time of publication.
⚠️ misogyny, outdated/offensive terms, racism
I'm trying to picture it...bold or just terrible? Is it the 60s fault ? (Time of publication). Is this a sincere take or a send up of 'masculine' decor? This is the same series, and female author, who wrote in the last book about 'a caesar being a man's salad'. 😏🙄
The perfect way to spend a dreary gray day. #lennox #huey #catsoflitsy
This is a reread, I keep forgetting where I am in the series! This is definitely a product of its time, with some bad racial descriptions, but otherwise I enjoyed it.
"We'd like the publicity," said the decorator, “but I don't know how our clients will react. You know how it is; whenever the boys in Washington find out a taxpayer has wall-to-wall carpet in his bathroom, they audit his tax returns for the last three years."

Okay, gross. Just about every "modern" (circa 1970) design choice in this book is a tragedy being addressed on HGTV somewhere...
🛋Story about interior decorator who gets murdered & a kitty solves the case.
🛋Plot picks up much faster than book one.
🛋Lots of information about 60s era interior decor. world.
🛋Exchange between Qwill & Koko are so fricking adorable.
🛋Koko is the cutest, most intelligent li‘l Siamese kitty.
🛋Outdated language can be off-putting as some of it is offensive (ex: use of word Orientals).
🛋Decently entertaining & short!
🛋3/5
As interesting as the first book, I'm excited to read the next adventure of Qwill, Koko and Yum Yum
My Thriftbooks order is coming today so I can finally start the series again 😁
The second book in the series and to me not as good as the later ones, but still a fun read.
"I've got a hunch -" he pounded his mustache with his knuckles.
