Summer Games: Settling the Score
Summer Games: Settling the Score | R S Grey
As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true: The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs... The committee passes out condoms like candy... The games continue long after the medals have been handed out... As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent-too bad he's unavailable in a way that "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain. In other words: "off limits." It doesn't matter that he has abs that could bring peace to the Middle East and a smile that makes even the Queen blush; Andie fully intends on keeping her focus on the soccer field. But the Village is small. "Suffocating." Everywhere Andie goes, Freddie happens to be there-shirtless, wet from the pool, and determined to show her a whole new meaning of the phrase "international affairs.""

Bailedbailed

Bail at 57%. I started out really liking the writing but ultimately was done with the push/pull between these two. There is an 11 year age difference and I appreciated that is was noticeable. He wants commitment and she wants to travel carefree. That said, I didn‘t buy that they had any true feelings for each other beyond lust and I needed to believe that to continue. Also, their communication is 👎🏼. (Tagged under another of hers I bailed.)

That-Bookish-Hiker I felt the same way about this book too. I still don‘t understood why or how they fell in love. I also requested this book on Litsy since it wasn‘t here but I see they haven‘t added it yet. 6y

It was a little more angsty and drama-filled than I thought it would be, but I loved it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

They aren't a huge part of the story, but I did get a good laugh out of the rugby Vikings.

ObsessiveBookNerdLauren Besides the villain, all the extra characters were wonderful! 8y

I liked the Olympic Games theme, it really made the story feel unique, even though the Olympics are so real. Haha. I loved the little twists Grey put in the story for keeping Andie and Freddie apart. Overall, this book won a huge gold medal from me, for one of my favorite books of the year.

THE SUMMER GAMES: Settling The Score will make chuckle so many times, it had the right amount of drama, the perfect amount of angst (and sports angst as well!), and I‘m so looking forward to the next standalone in the series, THE SUMMER GAMES: Ouf of Bounds, coming in August!

THE SUMMER GAMES: SETTLING THE SCORE is the kind of addictive sports romance that will leave you breathless – thanks to the A+ quality humor and the twists that you won‘t see coming.
