This was my first Wilkie Collins novel, and I loved it. I eventually switched over to #audiobook as I was reading so many physical copies, and it brought a whole new element to the book. If you like gothic romance/mysteries, you‘ll love this book!

This is a whole new genre that Nora Roberts explores, and I think it is one of her best. It brings a whole new perspective to her work, which I think was needed. She does a great job of world building, while still having her romantic elements and suspense that she is well known for.

These are pretty enjoyable mysteries, but they feel two dimensional; none of the characters seem quite believable. If they had one more round of editing to really make the characters three dimensional, this would be a 5 star read. 3.5 ⭐️

You can breeze through this book in one sitting, but the writing leaves something to be desired. While the murder of the girls is supposed to be a focal point of the story, it takes a backseat to Hannah's obsession w/her dead best friend, and her new love interest. It's good but not shocking in any way. 3/5 ⭐️

If you love reading about Egyptian mythology and Victorian London, you will love this series. When her mother sends a cursed artifact to their museum, she immediately knows that she must get rid of it before her father or any of the museum workers touched it. She sets out in the middle of the night to do just that (that's the only time it will work!). What follows is a nail-biting, sarcastic read.
