Finished this over the weekend... in the beginning, it was addicting like After by Anna Todd was for me, but it was also exasperating too. I love the Winston brothers and their relationship, the thought nuggets about growing up with a shitty patent, but kind of hate the actual writing. Anyone else read this one? Am I the only one who felt like this?

I picked this book up because I had to see what all the fuss was about- my students can‘t get enough of it. I see the taboo appeal for them, but I definitely liked the artwork in this book more than I enjoyed the plot.

I made it! #24in48 for the first time!! My timer reset halfway through, but luckily I took a screen shot for a post before it did. So here‘s my two timers for this readathon. Feeling pretty happy I dedicated my weekend to reading. Congrats to everyone else who spent time reading this weekend, whether it was for 24 hours or 2! #readersgonnaread

I‘m 21 hours in and just finished my fourth book!

This book! The Good Daughter sucked me in and kept me turning the pages until the very last one. There were definitely some parts of this book that were hard for me to read, but I still really enjoyed it very much. I haven‘t like all of Karin Slaughter‘s books, but this is my current favorite.

What a listen! The character building in this book made it for me. I was shocked by how much I cared for all the people of Beartown by the time I finished it. This story is a long haul that‘s totally worth it.

I‘m also gearing up for #24in48! Who else is spending the weekend reading?

VanChocStrawberry Me! Not going to make it 24 hours, I‘m pretty sure, since I have to work tomorrow, but I‘m gonna try! 6y

This book was a slow starter, but now I‘m loving it! The character building is 🙌🏼 it‘s been a happy surprise.

I tried reading one of the author‘s other books, A Man Called Ove, but just wasn‘t feeling it. Now I‘m considering giving it a second chance. Have you read it? Is it worth the read?

britt_brooke I‘ve read all of his books. Ove is my favorite, but they‘re all good reads. Bear Town is so good. Those first 100 pages were kind of rough, but I ended up loving it. 6y
missarixreads @britt_brooke that‘s encouraging to hear! I‘ll have to go back to it. 6y

I love seeing my year of reading on Goodreads! One of the things I enjoy most about reading is that it makes me think about things I wouldn‘t have before.

This year I‘ve read great books and disappointing ones, just as I‘ve lived through personal highs and lows. I‘ve kind of been all over the place this year, but like the books I‘ve read, it‘s a journey and I‘m learning a lot. ♥️ 📚

Jazz is the son of the most notorious serial killer. His father is in prison, but Jazz hears his words in his head every day. Instead of giving in to who he was raised to be, Jazz hunts serial killers instead.

This series definitely has a Dexter vibe, but it‘s an entirely different story with wonderfully complex and dynamic characters. #currentread #YAlit

I went in to this book without knowing the premise... while there were times I felt the story was taking too long, I loved the characters enough to hold out. The stories were worth it. I love the ending of this book and Jesse's speech about the cosmos.

I'm also nearly 16 hours into the readathon. Even though I'm not going to make it to 24, it feels awesome to have dedicated a weekend to reading 🙌🏼

I was sucked right into this book and then sucked right back out. I really wanted to like it, but couldn't get over the fact that I didn't sympathize with Ani and all of her first world complaints. The story has an interesting plot, but I wanted more from the ending and characters.

This book is a great YA story. It's got a touching back story, exciting mystery, comics woven into the chapters, and quite a bit of action. I didn't love it because it glossed over a lot of things (to be expected at times in YA), but I know my 7th grade students would be super into it.

Also, this book earns credit in my book for not including a cliche romance angle.

This book was just meh for me. The dialogue was so casual and accented that it took 100 pages to adjust to it. I got to page 300 and wanted to quit. I only finished this book because I'd already spent so much time on it, and I had hopes it might turn out better than it actually did.

I struggled to rate this book because it didn't truly hook me until the last 100 pages. This book slowly builds to an ending that leaves many unanswered questions. I would have preferred less building, and more explanation in the ending. That being said, it's an intriguing idea... 6 kindergarteners kidnapped, and 11 years later, only 5 of the 6 return with no recollection of where they've been.

This book was a roller coaster. I really struggled with the multiple POVs. The plot was unbelievable. The end of the book felt choppy.
I was expecting Jim to die in this book, but not the way he did. I wish the story would've ended differently, but then Jamie Maguire wouldn't have had the wow-factor this ending provided. As much as I loved seeing how the Maddox family progressed, I wish the series had ended with Beautiful Burn.
