Melissa Parker's secret is out. Now that the entire world knows she's dating Sam Morneau, Mel suddenly finds herself and her relationship under the intense scrutiny of celebrity gossip bloggers, curious fans, and appropriately concerned family members. But then, that's nothing compared to the other secrets and scandals that plague The Kind of September. In the midst of their long-anticipated world tour, a toxic combination of infidelity and betrayal has left the band and its fan base angry, confused, and ultimately broken. No one ever said that life with the world's most popular boy band was easy, but in spite of everything she's seen, Mel is still willing to believe that it's worth it.

julesG Have you tried Goodreads? There are some good tips in the groups. 6y
Tove_Reads @julesG Yup, just started to look for these books, surfing the internet, but figured Litsy could be good too 🙂 6y
julesG Sure, it's the first place I ask around, too. Is Binti Namibian? 6y

Tove_Reads @julesG Nigerian American, I think. Never read those, because me and magical realism are pretty much enemies 😟 6y
julesG It's 96 pages, or so. Keep it in mind, in case you can't find anything else. 6y
julesG This Graham Greene book is set partially in Paraguay 6y
Tove_Reads @julesG 👍🏽I will, although I have picked a book for Nigeria already. This one is Namibian. (edited) 6y
Itchyfeetreader I have picked up but not yet read this book of short stories. I‘m going to bare it with some essays I have about the Palestine literary festival. 6y
DebinHawaii This one is set in Morocco. It's still in my #TBR but I've heard good things. 6y
DebinHawaii And this one is Namibia. It's a good mystery--the first book in a series although I think there are only 2 books so far in it. 6y
rockpools This was graphic nonfiction and a good read: 6y
rockpools I was also interested in this one by a Palestinian author: 6y
Andrew65 Every Secret Thing by Susana Kearsley has a focus on Portugal (also visits the U.K., Canada, US) (also published under the name of Emma Cole) I gave it 4 stars. One of those books that has two time lines. 6y
Andrew65 @Eadieb read Burial Of Ghosts by Ann Cleeves 4 Stars last year which is set in Morocco I believe. 6y
Andrew65 If you like action books, Consent to Kill by Vince Flynn visits Qatar. I love the Mitch Rapp books - usually give them 5 Stars. This one was a personal favourite. (edited) 6y
Andrew65 Part of The Innocent by David Baldacci (No. 1 in the Will Robie Series) visits Morocco and is a very good book. 6y
Andrew65 The Lost Temple by Tom Harper has a large part set in Palestine - only gave it 3 Stars but might be because it was an audiobook. (edited) 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 Yes it was a 4 star read and about Morocco. 6y
GlassAsDiamonds First one that came to mind for Panama 6y
tpixie I follow a girl on Facebook “reading books from every country” you may get some ideas from her! 6y
arubabookwoman Portugal classics—try #Eca de Queiro, especially #TheMaias or #TheCrimeofFatherAmaro. For modern—#Saramag0 6y
Swe_Eva Heartily seconding @arubabookwoman‘s recommendations for Portugal, Eca de Queiros and Saramago. If you like political reads, I‘ll add Antonio Lobo Antunes as well. 🇵🇹 6y

Pickpick

This book was filled with nonstop craziness. It was pretty much bombshell after bombshell. What happened in book two was just the tip of the iceberg. So. Much. Drama. But I loved every second of it (I‘m a sucker for celebrity drama. It‘s my guilty pleasure). I just couldn‘t believe all the things that were happening.

Overall, this was an excellent continuation of the series. I cannot wait to see how it all ends!
