Just started yoga teacher training 🧘🏻♀️
Looking forward to the new realm of reading this will open up for me... Meditation, history, culture, anatomy... can‘t wait! 📿
Nhat Hanh is a disciple of mindfulness; aka meaningful existence by living in the moment and the flow of whatever you‘re doing. It starts with practicing the art of breathing and learning how to use mindful breathing for all situations. It reminds me of a life on a delicate balance between equilibrium and disequilibrium-such is life, but mindfulness helps.
Work is slow today so I polished off this lovely gem. I think I need it in physical form (I read it as an ebook borrowed from the library). It‘s truly inspiring and redoubles my determination to continue and deepen my meditation practices.
“Mindfulness is the miracle by which we master and restore ourselves.”

Beautiful 💜
“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”
A lovely story of Thich's life but either my expectations were too high or I'm not cultured enough in Buddhism to truly appreciate it.
Those who are without compassion cannot see what is seen with the eyes of compassion.
See that the most essential thing is life and that killing or oppressing one another will not solve anything.
New audiobook to prep for one of my New Year resolutions: more meditating! Do you have any recommendations on books about meditating? 😌
Love my meditation corner!
For one's bedside, to consult often. A beautiful love letter about mindfulness, peace, and presence - this edition also includes a compendium of "Exercises in Mindfulness," several pages of Buddhist Sutras ("threads" or "scriptures"), and a chronology of Thich Nhat Hanh's life. #mindfulness #peace #presence #breath #thichnhathanh #Buddistsutras
"Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again."—Thich Nhat Hanh, from The Miracle of Mindfulness

"We talk about social service, service to the people, service to humanity, service for others who are far away, helping to bring peace to the world-but often forget that it is the very people around us that we must live for first of all."
