It took me a while to get through this book because I found the author's tone pompous and unrelatable. Although I had some good takeaway moments from the book overall it was hard to chew.

What a delightful book! I learned so much about the shells and other various mysterious objects that wash up on the beach - mysteries no more! The author uses scientific terms, but explains them in layman‘s language. She also encourages readers to just soak up the relaxing atmosphere of the beach, being aware of all 5 senses, meditating, and pondering age old questions. Perfect reading for anyone who is at the beach, or dreaming of being there.

julieclair This was my #MonthlyNonfiction2025 pick for June. It‘s part of the Pocket Nature series - first one I‘ve read, but I‘ll definitely read more. #Pantone2025 #RumRaisin @Lauredhel 2d

What a wonderful book!! Highly recommend for kids, but also for adults.
Each page is beautifully illustrated, showcasing to the reader a moment in nature, reminding us to pause to admire the beauty of our surroundings.
Definitely a book crush ;)

It is a story of a straw learning how to slow down his drinking. #ISpyBingoMay @TheAromaofBooks

4 ⭐ Wow, this is not a boys town press it kind of reads like one. Where you‘re given a problem and ways to deal with it. The refrain in this book is worry worry go away. I don‘t have time for you today. And that actually really works especially with the examples that are given , and that the reaction isn‘t always the same as long as you take time to think about it and know that you can be better. Over all this book works.

Sarah!!! Just received your wonderful letter and package this week. OMG, I‘m speechless!!! 🤩🤩🤩😭😭😭😘😘😘 How you ever found time to make us this beautiful blanket with all that‘s on your plate. It‘s already keeping me cozy, warm and relaxed during reading time. (And as you can see, Frost thinks it‘s for him!)
We will treasure it always…and you! 🥰🥰🥰

Unfortunately I didn't get to finish The Wedding People before it was due back at the library. I think I'll try this one next. It's been on my TBR forever, and I'm trying to get back into meditation and mindfulness. Thich Nhat Hanh should be a good guide.

A quick listen, though I was supposed to read this slowly, as the title suggests. I liked it, though I‘m not sure how much will stick, so it would be better to have this in print for a bigger impact. Several points really resonated and would be excellent for people to hear, especially the sections about finding the common ground and realizing that often religions have more in common than what separates them. Delight in the simple things in life.

julieclair Same for me. I listened on audio - not slowly - and then ended up buying a print copy so I could linger over it. 5mo
