New York Times bestselling seriesThe first book in the New York Times bestselling series The Lying Game, by author of the bestselling Pretty Little Liars series, Sara Shepard.Shortly before her seventeenth birthday, Emma discovers she has a long-lost twin named Sutton Mercer. She contacts Sutton, who agrees to a rendezvous, but never shows up. Curious at first, Emma slips into Sutton's ultra-glamorous life, assuming her identity. When it becomes clear that Sutton is not coming back, that someone made sure she never could, Emma plunges in to investigate who could have wanted her sister gone (a fairly long list, she discovers). Unfortunately, taking over Sutton's life means innocent little Emma has inherited all that bad blood--and then some. Perfect for fans of Sara Shepard's #1 New York Times bestselling series Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game has all the juicy plot lines, to-die-for lifestyles, and compelling secrets that fans love.

I really thought I was going to like this one, but instead, I'm a little shocked how unimpressed I was. On the one hand, it kept me reading, but on the other, it ended with a cliffhanger - and I've got no desire to read the next one to find out what happens. A total MEH book. On another note, I was kind of shocked at how cliche ridden and generic the writing was in places. Sara Shepard, what happened???

I liked it. The imagery is really good and keeps you wondering the truth until the end! The characters all have very distinct personalities and for a darker tale it was an enjoyable read

I binge watched the TV series last month and loved it, so just had to read the books. Finished reading the first one in less than a day (I'm usually a really slow reader), it's an light, fun read. Looking forward to reading book 2.

I wrapped up the Lying Game series this week - it being only 6 novels and 2 novellas was a big win. I was drawn into the Pretty Little Liars series but stopped halfway... after 8 books how many more twists and turns and non-answers can one handle?

My review (with spoilers) is posted on my blog - Librarian Wannabes. Check it out if you‘d like!

When you have packing to do but you just got sucked in to a new series.... The Lying Game was so good! By the end my heart was pounding, I was reading faster and faster, like that would somehow sate me. Now I have the series checked out on overdrive and I don‘t want to finish unpacking from the Holidays during Ethan‘s naptime... ugh #readerprobs

Today‘s question for myself, can I finish this book in 2017 and make it a nice 85 books for the year? My reading goals were bust this year - my first year as a parent and I got to read a lot of touch and feel books 😂 we‘re in between massive snowstorms at my parents house so I went to my old library and checked out some books on my mom‘s card - gotta love small town libraries that make exceptions for out of town daughters 😉

SilversReviews I think you can. 😍Nice number of books read. 7y
drokka Sure you can, something engrossing, up to three to read it - you've got this 👍 7y
RiotMom You‘ve got this! And you‘ve survived your first year of being a parent, so you can do pretty much anything! 7y

sammisho 85 books as a new mom is amazing!!!! I didn't start reading until my kids were 3! You are a rockstar! 7y
Kalalalatja You can do it 👏👏 7y
Smangela I love Litsy ☺️ thanks for the encouragement! Whenever I know people in my family won‘t understand my desire to have a yearly reading goal I know my Littens will! @SilversReviews @drokka @sprainedbrain @Kalalalatja ♥️♥️ 7y
Smangela @RiotMom I burst out laughing reading this 😂 I do feel like I need a badge that says a made it through year 1 😳😅 7y
Smangela @sammisho 😍 thank you! Just recently during these glorious 2-3 hr daily naps have I really gotten some quality time in and it‘s glorious - I didn‘t realize how much I missed it! 7y
SilversReviews ♥️♥️♥️ We do understand. :) (edited) 7y
SilversReviews May I know how you got that background on Typoama and bypassed a photo. 7y
Smangela @SilversReviews hmmm When I open the app it has a ton of pictures you can use and can even search through their stock photos! Is that not an option for you? 7y
SilversReviews @Smangela I see photos, but how did you get that background you have which doesn't look like a photo to me. 7y
Smangela @SilversReviews I searched New Years and there was one that was like glitter or lights perhaps? And I just zoomed in a bit :) 7y

The book itself was not so bad for YA nonsense fluff....but the narration. OMG. It took me almost two hours...TWO HOURS!... to realize the narrator was reading for two separate parts. COME ON! #litsyatoz #letterl @BookishMarginalia

Anyone else read this? For the the past month it seems like I've been just reading serious books.

Smangela I saw the show when it was on ABC Family haha! Is the book good? It's on my TBR 8y
kricheal @Smangela I'm only about a half hour in... but wow this narrator smh, she sounds like the younger sister from Party of Five when she was young and bratty. I don't know maybe I'm not in the right frame of mind for this yet. The last four books I read were so heavy and two of my print ones I'm reading now are too. I'm hoping this gets better, but so far the worst this about it is the terrible narrator. 8y
Smangela It's so hard when the narrator turns you off! 8y

Trying a new app - Bookout. Add your book, start the counter, read, then when you're done stop the counter and enter your page/percentage. I haven't done a book I haven't been in the middle of already yet, but I like that it'll predict how much longer it'll take for you to finish a book. And you can product cool infographics!

Not sure about this narrator but the story seems interesting.
I had a life anyone would kill for.
Then someone did.
The worst part of being dead is that there‘s nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It‘s enough to kill a girl all over again.
