A woman was kidnapped and tortured but finally escaped; 2 others were abducted but ended up dead. If you like courtroom/ lawyer drama and twisty mystery, this is for you. Well written ❣️But I believe it‘s a new series I‘ve begun…

Good news: I finished another book. Bad news: Apparently I also accidentally started another series 🤣 This was a decent read. Margolin always keeps me engaged & for once I didn't have to get out a note card to keep track of all the characters. Despite enjoying this one, it somehow didn't hook me as hard as his writing usually does...but this didn't stop me from reserving the rest of the series at the library!

FINALLY got a #BookSpin BINGO!!!

Bookzombie I have accidentally started series several times. It‘s sort of annoying, but not annoying too. Lol. 3y

Clwojick This cover looks so familiar. I think I almost downloaded it, but realized it was part of a series. I might have to start a series challenge in 2022 😅 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - SAME! How did I end up in the middle of so many!? 3y
robinb Sarah, do you think this series needs to be read in order? I have a chance to read a new one but don‘t want to be helplessly lost. 🤣 2y
TheAromaofBooks @robinb - Weeeeelll I haven't read any of the other books yet so I'm not sure how much they build on each other 😂 When I read this book I definitely felt like it had that “setting up a series“ vibe, but I'm not sure that you would have to read it to grasp who the main characters are and how they work together. But since I haven't read any of the others, I'm not sure where everyone goes!!! 2y
robinb @TheAromaofBooks I hear ya! Some series you‘re OK to jump into at any point, some you‘re like “what the heck is going”. LOL 2y

So here is my current #BookSpinBingo board - thankfully I am reading the tagged book, which will finally net me a bingo. I did honestly consider reading The Birdwatcher instead, just to keep pushing the boundaries! 🤣

TheAromaofBooks The ironic part is that 13 of the books I've read so far were books from series, so I “had“ to read them in the order that I read them - so fate is genuinely determining that I really have to work for a bingo this month!!! 3y
Bookwormjillk That's pretty impressive actually! 3y
Crazeedi Sarah, add me back to Bookspin could you?? I need to get my groove back! Thank you❤❤ 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Bookwormjillk - I realized that if I had read The Birdwatcher and Thin Air next, I actually could have gotten 19 books and not had a bingo. How is that possible?! 😂 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Crazeedi - Absolutely!!! I'm getting ready to post November's reminder post this morning!! 3y

It's the 'grew up with four brothers' trope! Drink!

Bailing on this one in Chapter 3. I was promised an awesome interesting female protagonist, but I'm not at all clicking with the Socratic-style dialogue.

I just devoured this book. It has a lot of twists in it. It's a legal thriller. I was guessing until the end. Thought it was someone totally different than it was.

Great book!! Courtroom drama, murder mystery, and a very sad touch of humanity. 😢 Robin gets her dream job but her boss may be more challenging than any of her cases.
