Weaponxgirl Is this an insomniacs of litsy meet Up? 6y
TheBookHippie @Weaponxgirl 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻✔️ 6y
LiterRohde @Weaponxgirl 👍 I promise. I‘m not stalking you. 🤣 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @TheBookHippie @CouronneDhiver @Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde ugh my brain is pissing me off! Insomniacs unite! 😂 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde lol, I'm ok with friendly Internet stalking. It's when people start following you home that I worry 😉 unless it's a cat, I have to resist the urge to encourage cats to follow me home 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm let's break out the snacks! 6y
CouronneDhiver Ha! Indeed. I‘m often up late, but there‘s plenty of company to be had tonight. 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm I too hate when my brain just won‘t shut up and give me a break. You‘d think I‘d be used to it by now. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl snacks?! I‘m there!!! Well, I‘m here... same difference 😂 I already ate all my peanut m&ms and now I‘m saaaad 😫 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde bah- it‘s usually when u think- man I‘m tired, im gonna sleep real good tonight- that ur pesky brain sneaks up on u! Ps, I friended u on fb- hope that‘s not creepy 🤷‍♀️ (edited) 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm noooo! Hate when I run out of chocolate. Well I've hit the point where it's so late it's now early in the morning and the shops open soon so I'll pick up some more for you 😉 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm Nope. Already accepted and liked a few posts. Lagunitas - Yes! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl hahaha please do! 😂😂😂 it‘s 2:14 here, I have a while to go! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde yaaasss I had some kind of 8% Lagunitas IPA- and I don‘t even like IPAs- but I won a round of bingo sooooooo... lol 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm I‘ve got my bag of Carmel and Pretzel M‘s right here. 😂 Too bad food sharing doesn‘t work in the virtual world. 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm the half hopeful time of the night! I can still sleep even if I'll be tired for the day. I do nights so luckily I can sleep during the day but it does add to my being an unsociable person. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl half hopeful- I like that! Im a teacher on summer vacation struggling with feeling guilty for going to bed late and sleeping in... give me another week and it will be old hat once again 😂 6y
LiterRohde @Weaponxgirl Yesterday (I had to think about that one for a minute since I haven‘t been sleeping), I did the same thing. Stayed up so long I just waited for the grocery store to open. It‘s actually bearable to grocery shop at 6a. Not people-y at all! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde PRETZEL m&ms?! I‘m unfriending you on both social media accounts. Simply unacceptable. 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde exactly! I'm waiting for the aldi near my house to open at 8. I love when it's less peopley and the shop discounts in the morning so I sometimes get a bargain to boot 😂 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm summer vacation means no guilt for you! 😉 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl less peopley- i love it! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde what‘s your go to late night tv pleasure? I‘ve got forensic files on lock 📺 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm I love those awful there's a demon attacking me but in all reality it's probably sleep paralysis programmes 😂 murder shows are good too though 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm I‘m usually binging Scandal at the moment. But right at this moment, it‘s an infomercial featuring Dr. Red Cross! Seriously! 😂😳🙄 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl omg sleep paralysis is the WORST- absolutely terrifying!!! But I never thought it was a demon- OMG WHAT IF ITS A DEMON?! I think I‘ll stick to murder, thanks 😂😂😂 6y
Weaponxgirl @TheFunkyBookworm I remember when I first got it and just being like ummm, if this is a horror movie I'm screwed! So pleased when I found out I wasn't going insane! 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde I haven't watched that, I'm behind on all my tv. Even drag race! @TheFunkyBookworm 6y
LiterRohde @Weaponxgirl Yikes. Flashback. I grew up in a VERY religious household and had that sleep paralysis happen when I was a kid. I was terrified I was going to hell. Ridiculous looking back on it but I believed it and my parents confirmed that it absolutely could have been a demon and encouraged me to search out why I was visited. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde haha Netflix for scandal? I‘ve never gotten into that one... I‘m anxiously awaiting the new season of Shameless to drop on there soon! Hahahah Dr Red Cross- oh my u must be desperate for tv programming this evening/morning 😂 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl I know!!! Its terrifying!!! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde holy sh*t! I don‘t know what I would have done with that reaction- did you search it out or leave it be?! 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde that's an awful thing to go through as a child! I'm so sorry that happened like that to you. I got it a lot for a while and eventually I'd just get angry with my brain and manage to get out of it by swinging a punch at whatever was sitting on my chest 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm I‘ve been ignoring the TV since finding friends to converse with. Didn‘t even realize what was on until you asked. Yes. Netflix. I love waiting until a series is over to watch it. Seven seasons as fast or slow as I want now. It does get a bit too soap opera-y for sometimes, but I generally find it pretty entertaining. It‘s got got this black-ops subplot and this psycho character named Huck that keeps me hooked. 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl Yeah. Unfortunately I spent years trying to figure out what I did wrong. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde I‘m the same way- I hate waiting for a new season- I‘d prefer to just watch at my leisure once it‘s over. Right now we are obsessed with the American Version of The Office- I‘m savoring it and not watching too fast lol omg that reminds me- do u have HBO?! As an educator you MUST watch Vice Principals!! Hilarious! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde ugh that‘s awful- I‘m sorry for that 😬 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde I'm really sorry I bought back bad memories for you. 6y
Weaponxgirl @LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm it's been lovely chatting to you both but I'm gonna go buy food! And nail polish remover, I also work with kids and let a girl paint my nails black. Since I bite my nails I don't have any in the house and now look quite emo with it splashed around my cuticles 😂 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm Vice Principals. Check. Just got HBO GO free with my phone plan. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Weaponxgirl 😂😂😂 gnite! Nice chatting with you! Don‘t forget the m&ms! 😜 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde yaaaasss you‘ll love it! Oh and curb your enthusiasm is on there too 👌🏽 oh and the slender man documentary... I could go on and on... lol 6y
LiterRohde @Weaponxgirl No worries. It doesn‘t bother me now, because...science. Though my experience with religion does still follow me. I don‘t want to have anything to do with religion but I‘m also not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water. It makes for an interesting spiritual search. 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm Is that the Slender Man case with the girls who stabbed another girl because he told them to do it? 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde yes but in actuality it was the one girl who was behind the whole thing and the second girl got railroaded bc she was already dealing with mental illness- the case was tried recently but the documentary provides some interesting background... I‘m into all the true crime stuff lol 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm That all took place only a half hour from where I live. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde no way- how sad! The whole Slenderman thing came about from some website called Creepy Pasta. The internet man, these kids have no idea how to handle it! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde ps I‘m hoping ur done with school for the summer otherwise it might be a tough morning for you 😂 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm I hear you on that one! I think for one thing they grew up with it and take it for granted. And for another, they don‘t think ahead about consequences. And finally, they only know how to use it for entertainment. Research lessons are a slow painful process to teach. I didn‘t have access to it until college. 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm Oh. I‘m done. Otherwise I would definitely be screwed. Which has happened. Not fun. 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm And I was just thinking, “I hope I‘m not keeping her up or away from something more interesting or useful”. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde agreed! But it‘s def the lesson on consequences that is hardest to teach and also most difficult to learn! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde haha nah I‘ve been done since Memorial Day- I‘ve got lots of time on my hands- plus I‘ve already seen this episode of forensic files 😂 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm It‘s just sad that so many of my kids will have to learn the hard way. I try to share and advise. But it falls flat so often. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde well that‘s teaching isn‘t it? You spend day after day throwing pearls of wisdom out there praying something sticks 😂 I can still joke about this, as standardized testing scores haven‘t come in yet 😬 6y
LiterRohde Ugh. Don‘t even get me started. “So, Mr. Rohde, what are you going to do to improve your scores when they take it again in the spring? We will need you to write up a formal plan for improvement.” I‘m on their side, teaching what they need, cheering for them, lifting them up so they know they can do it. What else would you like me to do to MAKE someone care about something they don‘t? FYI. I CANNOT MAKE THEM CARE. Response: “You have to.” 6y
TheBookHippie @LiterRohde I read 2 books and watched Netflix clearly I should have stayed on Litsy!!!! Test scores not in yet for my reading kiddos.....holding my breath! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @LiterRohde It‘s maddening, isn‘t it?! It‘s IMPOSSIBLE to MAKE someone care ughhhhhhh thank god for summer vacation! Sorry, I finally fell asleep before responding last night 😂 6y
LiterRohde @TheFunkyBookworm No apologies. That‘s a good thing. I finally went at 4a CST. 6y
LiterRohde @TheBookHippie Hey, you got some reading in, so that‘s a good thing. My brain wouldn‘t allow it last night. 6y
TheBookHippie @LiterRohde I read old favorites always relaxes me 🤣 I went around 330am EST 6y
LiterRohde @TheBookHippie So. We really hijacked your post, huh? I didn‘t even click whose post it was until just now. 😬 6y
TheBookHippie @LiterRohde 😂😂😂😂no worries it was fun to read with my massive coffee intake 6y

It is so awesome when you can‘t sleep, so you‘re up at 3:30 reading about simple living on Reddit and then you drift into a weird dream about work that takes you a hot minute to realize isn‘t real.

Almost as awesome as that run-on sentence.

Here‘s hoping any reading I get done today is absorbed.

Weaponxgirl You have my sympathy, I had insomnia last night too and pretty sure my review last night was rubbish. Wishing you reading that sticks 6y
dariazeoli @Weaponxgirl May we both have a restful sleep tonight! 6y

Two nights in a row. Three is my max.

EKonrad Not being able to sleep is the worst thing ever! I feel your pain. 😢 7y
Laura317 Ugh! Insomnia is awful. I hope you fall asleep soon. 7y
CatLass007 @Ekonrad @Laura317 Thank you! But I might be in it for the long-haul tonight. I‘m just trying to decide what to read or do next to keep my mind from going bananas. I could just read a book, or I could crochet and listen to a book, or I could cross-stitch and listen to a book. The possibilities, while not endless, are several. 7y

UwannaPublishme Meditation works for me. I hear they have some apps with meditations to help you sleep. Plus I try to skip caffeine and sugar after 8pm. Hope you get some sound sleep soon. 7y
CatLass007 @UwannaPublishme I have a couple of those apps on my phone but they don‘t seem to work in helping me to sleep. I do try to avoid caffeine and sugar after 7 PM. But sometimes caffeine and sugar don‘t keep me awake either. It‘s hard to know what to do. Thank you for your kind thoughts. 7y
CouronneDhiver Oh no! 🙁 Read anything super boring lately... maybe time for a half-hearted reread. Boredom will usually work for me 7y
CatLass007 @couronnedhiver The most boring book I remember reading lately was the one by Stephen King where the guy went into the past to save Kennedy. I bailed on it and I no longer own it. I have no real desire to put myself through that again. Guess I‘ll have to wait till tomorrow night to sleep. (edited) 7y
Captivatedbybooks Well atleast it‘s not just me! Since Saturday i cant fall asleep. 7y
CatLass007 @Captivatedbybooks Well, I‘m sorry you‘re not sleeping well either! Get some rest. I‘ll sleep some other day. 7y
EllieDottie So sorry! I hope rest is in your near future!! 7y
CatLass007 @EllieDottie Oh, no rest for the wicked. LOL 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 Hope you got some sleep finally 😱 7y
CatLass007 @ForeverNerdy Not yet. Hopefully tonight. 7y
moranadatter Yikes! I hope you get a good night‘s rest tonight. 7y
dragondrool Ugh! I got nailed by insomnia last night, too. 7y
CatLass007 Well, so far tonight, I‘ve slept for over three hours, which is three more hours then I slept last night. 7y

It's 78 degrees here in Chicago right now, but I can't get quality rest without my winter blankets!! Sometimes I wake up really sweaty, but it's the only way my body and mind can fully relax. Stormy here doesn't mind that I can't sleep, she and all the cats ❤️my messy unmade bed. Does anyone else have this problem? The temp doesn't register when I am trying to get quality rest. It's bad enough I have to have BabyTv on at night. Good grief - Linus!

Laalaleighh I have to have really weighted blankets. It's like a comfort thing for me. Apparently a lot of people with anxiety need heavy blankets to sleep well. They even make ones specifically for that purpose (but I just layer like 10 blankets on top of my covers) 7y
RanaElizabeth I wouldn't have said I am an anxious person but I'm a heavy blanket person too. Of course, I also like sleeping with an extra pillow over my head so maybe I need to rethink that not-an-anxious-person thing. 7y

Mimi28 @Laalaleighh That makes sense. I do have high anxiety right now I am having a procedure done tomorrow. I have an unzipped old-fashioned sleeping bag that I use as a comforter that helps a lot. I'm even starting to have to lock the cats out of my room for quality sleep. Thanks! Hope you are feeling better ❤️😎👍 7y
Mimi28 @RanaElizabeth It's ok. It seems like everyone has their own sleep rituals. I do suffer from major anxiety though. 7y
DGRachel I always sleep better with fluffy comforters. I hated summers in Boone when I didn't have air conditioning because it was too hot for more than a sheet and I never slept well. 7y
Mimi28 @DGRachel I know what you mean. I've never had an air conditioner and sometimes the summers in Chicago are as rough as the winters. I feel Linus with all my blankets for security, lol 7y
Mimi28 @DGRachel like Linus, sorry 7y
