Broken Clocks
Broken Clocks | Danielle Allen

According to my grandma, a broken clock being right twice a day meant that in any given situation, perfect timing only happens twice. I fell for William Grayson in a matter of minutes. The connection between us was undeniable, but our timing was off. I was dating someone and by the time I was single again, he was taken. And a year later, when we finally got together, it was clear that we were soulmates. But circumstances out of our control cut our time short. We were a little older, a little wiser, when our paths crossed again. I was entering a new phase of independence in both my career and my life. He was growing professionally and moving to a new city. And even though our timing was off, it was still clear that we were soulmates. But for the second time, circumstances out of our control cut our time short. My grandma was a wise woman, but my love life taught me that there's no such thing as perfect timing. There's just timing... Because nothing is perfect. There's just right now... Because tomorrow isn't promised. For as long as we'd known each other, William and I just wanted to be together. It was as simple and as complicated as that.

#aprella So far this year, these four have been guilty of making me wipe snot on the back of my hand, making me feel like I had the flu, not being able to see clearly, coming back from break at work looking like someone had just died....all because they #keptmecrying.

mrozzz NOTED! I have Our Short History on my shelf and I‘ve been covering Love Letter from afar until I see it at the library... might have to just buy it up 🙃 6y
emilyhaldi Ugh, I have been avoiding Our Short History like the plague!! I don‘t think I can handle it 😭 6y
Cinfhen Same @emilyhaldi I can‘t do it...but I‘m glad to know it‘s as heart wrenching as I‘m imagining xx thanks for sharing, Reggie 6y

Mdargusch Avoiding Our Short History for that very reason! 6y
Reggie @mrozzz Just make sure you have the Kleenex box handy and that you don‘t have to go out anywhere with Our Short History. That one was just like waves and waves. So good though. 6y
mrozzz I‘m so excited... I absolutely love when a story moves me to tears. 6y
Reviewsbylola I bailed on Our Short History early on. Wrong time for it but maybe I‘ll go back. 6y

I really liked this. A broken clock is only right twice a day. The rest of the time you‘re just trying to figure it out. Layla, through a chance encounter, sees the love of her life, Will Grayson at a restaurant. They broke it off 2 years ago but now she‘s willing to take the second chance she has to make it work despite all of life‘s obstacles. The sex was 🔥, not gonna lie, all 31 pages, lol, and there was a great message in here. I enjoyed it.

CoverToCoverGirl Oh my! ... 31 pages... 😳😂 6y
LauraBeth 31 pages of sex would break anyone‘s clock! 😂 6y

Lol, so most of the romance I‘ve read this past year is slow burn with an obligatory ‘they made love‘ scene. Which is nice.... but then there is chapter 2 of this book. Commence “Bow chickka bow wow” music. Um have you ever read a scene in public and you look around to see if anyone else is seeing what you‘re seeing. My face turned so red when a coworker sat next to me and I had to stop. Turns out the scene is 31 pages. 31 PAGES!!! He‘s fixing👇🏼

Reggie Her breakfast right now which is nice. Lol Thanks for letting me share, Litsy. 6y
batsy 😆 6y
Bookzombie Wow, 31 pages! I have experienced that feeling when reading certain scenes in public. Lol 6y

readordierachel Haha! Totally. So scared others will know I'm reading about "adult" things. 6y
SandyW 😌 That's exactly why I don't read steamy in public! 6y
Cinfhen Is it small or large print?!?? 😂😂🙄🤣🤣🤣 6y
Reggie @Cinfhen it‘s kindle, just regular font. Lol 6y
Cinfhen And I see the page count is under 300 pages.... 6y
Centique That could be an official Litsy record. #guinessbookofsteamy 6y
ReadingEnvy Yes! My face when I hit an explicit scene while walking on campus where I work - 🤭😯😥🤯🧐🤫 6y
Leniverse 😂🤣😂 6y
CoverToCoverGirl 😳😂 6y
Scurvygirl I feel dirty reading this post... 6y
DGRachel This is why I don‘t read romance in public. 6y
Reviewsbylola Omg HILARIOUS!!! I feel like I need to read it now just to see how the author filled 31 pages. I propose a meetup where we all sit next to each other and read this scene. 😂 6y
Reviewsbylola Hahaha what percentage of this book is porn. 😂😂😂 @Cinfhen 6y
Chelleo I‘m stacking this just for the H Town lyrics alone! 😂😂😂 (edited) 6y
Chelleo @LeshaMac check this out! 😂😂 6y
Suet624 I wonder how many folks are ordering this book right now. 6y
Reggie @Suet624 lolol right? 6y
Suet624 I‘ve never read 50 Shades but when it came out people at work would bring their kindles, hide in their cubicles and read it. I‘d walk in and they‘d be fake typing and beet red. Drove me nuts. 6y
Christy2318 Added to my TBR so I can see how bow chickka bow wow is is. 🤣 6y
Reggie @Christy I don‘t read a lot of romance and the ones I have the love scenes usually come at the end and seem somewhat tame. This one hits you right off the bat with chapter 2. Lol, the rest of the book, I actually enjoyed and I thought it had a great message. 6y
