Raw and totally real on the subjects of addiction, alcoholism, motherhood, relationships and sex. Good, relatable read.
I ought to be able to relate to this one 😂 #amreading
A solidly crazy memoir about excessive drinking in your 40‘s. The author is honest about her self-destructive habits that spiraled her life into alcohol abuse and an affair as a remarried divorced mother of two. Her strength and grit gets her back on track to happiness.
Such a great quote about shame. Such an honest memoir of drinking and loving and being a living disaster but still coming back to try and find happiness again.
I love her honesty and her ability to lay bare all her mistakes and faults. I also kinda agree that there are levels of alcohol addiction or abuse. But her love addiction is insane. I don‘t know how she found time to have an affair with 2 kids, 3 jobs and so many other problems. Still a good honest memoir of drinking to excess and coming back around to try and find happiness.
1. Yes
2. More fiction but it varies year to year. Sometimes it‘s near 50/50
3. Addiction memoirs or mountain climbing or disasters
4. Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

Enjoyed this memoir with its unexpected conclusion. Not the all-time best addiction memoir but solid. 🎧 Allyson Ryan did such a good job, I had to keep reminding myself this wasn‘t an author-read audiobook. I‘ll give it a pick b/c it‘s a 3.5.
I‘ve read a lot about addiction lately and this one just isn‘t sitting with me. Her writing style is casual, which I usually like, but not for this subject matter.
