This is the 2nd book in this series, but the 3rd that I have read and I am really enjoying them. This one has some incredible twists that I did not see coming. The series has a cast of fascinating and very different detectives, etc. with different back stories and is told from various points of view. While this can make the reading occasionally a bit confusing it also makes it more interesting and realistic. Now I need the 4th book. 4.5/5 stars

The second in the DI Adam Fawley series; it was ALL CAPS GOOD! Adam‘s backstory & demeanor are unique, & the supporting cast is well drawn. The mystery has twists & turns galore. Just when I had a glimmer it twisted some more. Another check ✔️for my #BookSpinBingo card! @TheAromaofBooks

I was disappointed that my attention wasn‘t grabbed within the first 100 pages, after reading the positive reviews. The story had shifting perspectives, which I thought made it interesting, but I also thought there were too many (for my liking). I‘m sure the ending would have been great based on other reviews, but unfortunately, the story wasnt captivating enough for me 🌟/5

I really enjoyed this book. It was a very quick and engrossing read for me. I loved the shifting perspectives and the inclusion of alternate formats such as interviews, emails, or newspaper articles. I definitely plan to read more books in this series.

I ordered ‘In The Dark‘ from Book Depository as I couldn‘t wait for the 2019 release date in Canada, and I‘m so glad I did! Really enjoyed this one! Think I might like it even more than ‘Close to home‘!

The first 200 pages were great... the second 200 pages lost me ... I think I must be very hard on the thrillers. ( Gone Girl has set an all new high for me too , ofcorse) So it was ok. I have to admit to some skimming in the second part , I was over it by then. I just wanted to finish it. But it did start off excellently... I really like the MC

It‘s Sunday morning.. wide awake but staying in bed for a little read - because as we all know , when we are up , we are up , and the day begins... this thriller is starting off well , but is getting @CarolynM ‘s 100 pages test ! If I‘m not “ in “ after 100 pages , it‘s bailing time ( I hope I am quoting you correctly @CarolynM )

CarolynM Yep, that's the rule I live by😉 (edited) 6y
Cathythoughts @CarolynM I think it‘s a great rule 👍🏻( couldn‘t resist the emoji pun ) of thumb 🙄😆 6y
TrishB I‘ve been using that rule a lot lately too!! 6y

Wow are there some twists in this story. I really enjoyed this and loved the twists. I picked up on a couple of them but not all. The ending was good and really clever. The plot begins quite steadily but it soon builds to a brilliant ending. I read a lot if this type of story so it's always good to find one that I can't figure out right away.
Book 2 in the series. Need to find book one now.

This is the second book by cara Hunter I have read and it did not disappoint. Brilliantly written it was nice to read a book where it featured a lot of the investigating team and not centre on one character. There is no way in a million years I would have guessed the ending.
