pickI heard about this book from a meme where the author tweeted a bad review and clapped back that he was sorry his book about vampires on a submarine wasn‘t “realistic enough” for him. I knew immediately I had to read this book. It‘s so crazy it works. A submarine WOULD be the perfect place for a vampire. But how on earth (or at sea) could the humans stand a chance against them? Read and find out. It was a satisfying ride!

This was a fun and quick read. Vampires on a submarine sounds like the plot of one of those “so bad it‘s good” SyFy channel movies but it actually worked really well in this book. The vampires were creepy and the constant threat of them hunting down the surviving sailors in the dark added to the creepy vibe. I wouldn‘t say the book was scary but it was definitely entertaining.

This was not for me. There were some things I liked, but not enough.
The thing about the dirt cheap ebooks it is so hard to say no to, is that they might not be great. Maybe it‘s too early, maybe your instincts are right 🤷♀️ I have been on a real library kick lately and not reading my mountains of owned books so I am on a self imposed “kobo reading in bed only” rule. I am a terribly inconsistent user of my ereader.
1) I‘m behind but I set my goal pretty high. I‘m almost at 90 and pretty pleased with that.
2) my husband and I were engaged within 6 months 😳
3) Disco, Lana Del Rey, Motown. Not metal.

pickThis book combines the tension of being on a US submarine in Russian waters during the Cold War with the terror of supernatural killers. Trapped deep underwater as men are dying around them the crew has no idea what they are facing. A terrifyingly creepy read.
Total hours for my first #24B4Monday. I managed to finish the tagged book and made some progress on Ghost Story.
