3/5⭐ I liked the way the author, often with humor, promoted looking at the world in different ways throughout the book. While not groundbreaking (and sometimes slightly pretentious), the ideas support the underlying message, and most are easy enough to experiment with. #bookspinbingo

Life has gotten in the way, more than I care to admit, from the things I love doing. Reading & Litsy being some. So heres my first post in a long while.

We got the bookshelf from Walmart for under 30. Hubby had the brilliant idea of getting fabric to put on the 'backing' to give the shelf a pop.

On the plus side the design and colors matches our rug and our couch/decor pillows!! He knows exactly what to do to make me feel spoiled 😍

CoffeeNBooks That looks really good! I never thought of doing that with a bookshelf before! 6y
Mdargusch Great idea! I love it! 6y

Despite the sound of this quote, the author is advocating for growing a beard as an easy way to change people's perception of you. He also talks about trying out clothes you don't normally wear to get the same effect. Essentially presenting a new person to the world and seeing how you are treated differently and if you feel different as well.

Rae2 I imagine that if I suddenly had beard, people would definitely treat me differently. 😜 6y
Maewyn @Rae2 See? Success! 😁 (edited) 6y
Trashcanman I've been treated better since I grew my beard. 6y

Maewyn @Trashcanman The author states that with a beard he is usually treated with more reserve and respect and purposes that it might have something to do with not being able to read facial expressions as easily. 6y
Trashcanman How very interesting, I think perhaps it's also due to the amount of Grey in it. I don't know, pure speculation. 6y
Maewyn @Trashcanman You might have something there. People would comment about how educated and sophisticated my dad looked when his beard started coming in grey. Without it at all he had a baby face for a long time. 6y
