Enjoyed this one had a really good plot and liked the main character Cassie she was kick ass but not in an annoying way, like I find some female main characters 😊

Just finished. 3.5 stars.
Set in -20F North Dakota. It helped keep me psychologically cool during a hot weather week.
International criminals want to set up operation in the booming oil country of North Dakota, but a young boy innocently stands in the way. Blood & Oil meets The Client with a dash of Narcos. I'm not a fan of any entertainment that features drug dealers, but this is interesting and fast paced. Anyway, it's for a mysteries book club at the library which I'm looking forward to attending tonight. Nothing to do with the Springsteen song!
Grimsted, ND is now a booming oil town with an influx of newcomers, both good & bad elements in a town where once everyone knew their neighbors. A 12 year old boy finds a duffle bag contains drugs and cash worth millions. This is a terrific listening experience: edge of your seat moments, Salvadorian MS-13 gang, biker gang, crooked cops & an awesome narrator made this thriller a real treat. Book 2 of a series that begins with Highway.
Not really my thing, but I would listen to narrator January Lavoy read the phone book. That said, I liked the character of Cassie Dewell enough to read more.
