A sweet, cozy romance (with no spice) that I flew through. Both Shelby and Gray get the second chances they truly needed, and their stories fit together in such a natural, heartfelt way. The characters are warm, likable, and easy to root for. A perfect pick when you want something light, wholesome, and uplifting. Many thanks to NetGalley for the complimentary copy. My review reflects my honest and voluntary opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book #91 in 2025

KadaGul I really enjoy reading Denis Hunter's work. I've read some of her books from the River Bend Series, and I appreciate that on Hoopla, her books are categorized under “CLEAN ROMANCE," which is great because sometimes you need a light and enjoyable escape. 2w

Our Sept. library book club pick. I prefer fast paced, psychological thrillers, so I didn‘t initially enjoy this book. But I kept going and ended up really liking it. The River is a slower paced mystery with some action but more back story than anything else. The character development in this book was in depth and fantastic. Book #91 in 2024

I had hip dysplasia, though it wasn't discovered until my thirties. I felt the need to support the kids who are like me but who have the opportunity to be "fixed" before it becomes necessary for total hip replacement. This would have been a great resource had it existed. #91-2022

22 #91 I have gotten so far behind in my reading challenge. Mom was in the hospital for almost two weeks and I just couldn‘t absorb a book. This book was what I was reading when she got sick. Far too heavy for the moment. I finished it but didn‘t really enjoy it.

Hmmm…this one was weird. I listened to the audiobook. At times, it was unbelievable. Was that the intention? I think so, yes. Even though the cover looks middle grade, I do not recommend it for children. Hansel & Gretel are the MCs, there are beheadings, monsters, dragons, the devil and his grandma. The narrator is sarcastic and makes up for the creep - kind of. #91 #BookSpin #BFC22 #FAIRYTALE #SuperSeptember #AutumnBingo2022 blue-cover; 3 stars

AnnR Way to go, @Allylu! That really is a strikingly pretty blue cover but it's too bad the story was disappointing. 3y

21 #91 Stanley Tucci is such an interesting guy. I have always found him charming and witty. And the guy knows his way around the kitchen. Loved hearing him read it on audible. His dry sense of humor shines through.

Another great story of remarkable women serving their countries and the trials they went through to get it done. Great characters, intriguing story! It added to my fascination with stories of women who were spies! #100YEARS100BOOKS #91 #TAILSandTALESforADULTS #18 #BookSpinBingo #6 #BFC21 #5
