Winnie reaches her limit at her job with low pay and being passed over for promotions. She quits, ditches her bluh boyfriend of 11 years, goes to London and lands a job with a Downton Abbey-like drama 🎭 series. And why not? She needs the liberty to find her happy space…

Is it appropriate to mildly like a book and still recommend it? This was a lovely story about starting over. I would call this, a fairy tale for the forties and older. I enjoyed it but it was a little bit dull.

I would recommend this to my Nana's book club, or anyone else looking for a soft romance novel. Void of steamy sex scenes and any kind of plot twists/violence.

📚📖 Happy Reading! 📖📚

Throughly enjoyed this! The premise had me hook, line and sinker. An American, whose life is going nowhere has a series of events that propels her to go to England to visit the location of a Downton Abbey-esque television show. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‘s for a great escape!

I haven‘t read a Danielle Steel book in years. This one sounded like a fun read when I ran across it in the Libby app from the library.

This book is one of Danielle Steel‘s better books with a fast pace read that‘s intriguing and interesting. The characters were relatable and the story line was good. I‘d definitely recommend this one.

Based on this book, its true that sometimes when life knock us down, its time for us to leave our comfort zone and seek our true self, to go for something we want and what we love doing. It might seems impossible at first and need a lot of courage but we wont know unless we try. And somehow somewhere things will happen better than what we expect and how we want it to be.

Dipping into a new book this afternoon. I‘ve actually never read a Danielle Steel before, nor did I know she writes in several genres. This one looked quite Christmassy from the cover, & was featured on my library‘s holiday shelf. The synopsis sounded quite a bit like Austenland with a dose of Downton Abbey - a perfect cozy read, which I crave this time of year. Hopefully this will be a fun, unexpected read.

Well, that was a disaster. This #audiobook was just the worst. Boring. And why, in this day and age, was it narrated by a male when the protagonist and main characters are all women? It was laughable. This book attempts to set women back decades- stereotypical in so many ways. (“Ew, he wanted to DO IT!” 🤢) I haven‘t read Steel since I was a teen and now I know why. I fear her mass market appeal has been extinguished.

KarouBlue I swore this book would by my last DS. I used to love her books so much, what happened!! 6y
BlameJennyJane @MellieAntoinette I just don‘t know. I absolutely adored her books in the eighties and nineties. Maybe the genre has changed and DS is attempting to change with it in a way that didn‘t work for me? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I loved the concept of this. Maybe if I‘d just read it instead of listening, but it was a daily deal so I only had it in audiobook. 6y
KarouBlue @BlameJennyJane I read a physical copy! Agreed, though, the concept was there, it just didn‘t work. I like your philosophy though! The literature market has expanded so broadly in recent years, maybe it‘s not just the genre that‘s changed but we as readers too! 6y
BlameJennyJane @MellieAntoinette here here! I‘m going for a physical copy for my next DS. I picked up an old copy of Kaleidoscope a couple of weeks ago at the consignment store. 😊 5y

I‘ve only read a couple of her books, and that was years ago. But for $2.95 I figured this one is worth a shot. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #AudibleDailyDeal

My first and last Danielle Steel. How horrible. I‘m reading a heavier book and thought this would balance it...but this is soooo bad.

CarolynM I read a Danielle Steele once too🙄😝 6y
Catherine_Willoughby Liked "No Greater Love". A Love story around the sinking of the Titanic . Like Titanic based stories. My first book , only last as my taste changed into more fantasy/horror 5y

2. Between 60 to 70 degrees.
3. 67 at night, 69 during the day when we get home from work or when it‘s the weekend.
4. Spring because it isn‘t too cold or too hot.
5. I‘m going to go with Beauchamp Hall by Danielle Steel.

First book of the year finished and first book done for #booked2019. 😊 This is to complete my new to you author prompt. I rate this novel 5/5 stars. I love how Winnie was just coasting through life and never really in love with anything. She gets DVDs of a tv show for a white elephant gift, which inspires her to see her life differently and to take charge of it by going to England and taking risks and chances.

Have not read Danielle Steel in ages as I don't always enjoy her, but this was a very entertaining read. The main character irked me at times but she redeemed herself by the end of the story!

I really enjoy Danielle steel's latest book! it seems very reminiscent of Downton Abbey which I never watched but with a little twist in the story. my only complaint is that it ends almost exactly like you think it will at some point and that's not really a bad thing, I just thought that maybe it wouldn't have the typical expected ending for once lol 😂

Are you a fan of Downton Abbey? This book is about Winnie who is given a Christmas DVD's of a show called Beauchamp Hall. It sounds just like Downton Abbey, same time period, taking place in England at an estate with a story plot of the owners of the estate and their children plus the staff. She has a string of bad luck and decides to go to England to the village where the show is produced.
