3 posts | 2 read
The official sequel to Clive Barkers Nightbreed Directors Cut concludes! Following the destruction of the Nightbreed home, Boone, who is tasked with finding a new sanctuary for his people, abandons his destiny to help his girlfriend adjust to life as a monster. The Nightbreed must unite to find shelter. Little do they know that from the ashes of their catacombs, bathed in the blood of their god, an old enemy returns to purify the world from the darkness. Writer Marc Andreyko (Batwoman), along with artists Emmanuel Xerx Javier (Raven Nevermore) and Devmalya Pramanik, bring Cabals final journey to life. For from the ashes, a new Midian must rise.

88/150 This finale makes absolutely no sense, I feel like I missed something even though I just read Volume 2. There is a time jump, several of the Nightbreed are dead, Midian is gone, and Boone is living with a girl name Lori, who also seems to be supernatural. They're all being chased by a priest character who just popped up out of no where, with a vendetta to kill all the Nightbreed. Lousy ending to the series. 2 ⭐⭐

The_Book_Ninja The film was a disappointment too 4mo

Finished the graphic novels but you could almost skip them and read Nightbreed Chronicles instead.

The first 2 jump around in time as we learn about the Breeds‘ pasts. If you haven‘t seen the movie or read the novel, NONE of these comics will make any sense. They take place at various points in the movie without much context. The last volume was better since it was an actually sequel to the film.

Overall okay, quick reads.
