Clark and I just finished this book about the economics of the global drug trade and how to run a cartel. I was riveted and rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Clark found it... a snooze 😴😂

Not so much how to run a cartel but more like how cartels are run and what governments should do to curb their “business”. An interesting read :)

#bookmail and non fiction is totally not my thing but I‘ve heard this is a good one
Very interesting, highly educational look at the economics of the illegal drug business with logical solutions for more effective ways of handing the "war on drugs". Highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Back on the road :(. But hoping to make some progress on this on flight - it's very interesting, just slow going.
I'm not sure I could find two more different books to read at the same time but I'm really enjoying them both 📚😍
I'm just crushing on my hubby's current book jacket 💛💀💛According to hubs this book is fascinating...
A book which seeks to analyse the drug industry on an economic basis, with cartels being multinationals exploiting government weaknesses and fleeing to the neighboring country when circumstances become unfavorable down to the foot soldiers who are the equivalent of servers at fast franchises. I found his arguments that the solution to this problem should be addressed on this basis with rehabilitation providing a cheaper alternative to enforcement.
Vegas is happening! I'm going to drag myself there if I have to! I've scheduled a pedicure on my one afternoon off. So excited!!!! 💅🏻💅🏻💃🏻💃🏻 Also excited to chill in my room after a day of schmoozing. (It's a work trip.)
Packing while listening to this book. It's just what I need right now after the trauma of The Animators. I posted a TW in a spoiler tag this morning. It had me REALLY upset at work.
This book really puts the crime and violence in the drug world in a whole new light and forced me as a reader to look that the facts of the cartels. The correlation between business and cartel is very creepily similar. Because of this we need to explore new options when it comes to forcing the violent and horrible drug lords out of business. That means making economists police officers. Great read and one that I highly recommend!!
Just finished Grunt (review soon) so I am keeping this non fiction train going and starting off with this bad boy! Considering my job, this is an interesting read!
I picked up these three as ebooks/audiobooks at today's Amazon sale! I've read most of the books on sale, but somehow these three escaped me. For some books, adding narration is discounted 👍🏻, but others it's still up at $12.99 😳! Two are for #NonfictionChallenge17
...a kilogram of...cocaine...needs...350 kilograms of dried coca leaves...that would cost about $385. Once this is converted into a kilo, it can sell in Colombia for $800...that same kilo is worth $2,200 by the time it is exported from Colombia, and it has climbed to $14,500 by the time it is imported to the U.S. After being transferred to a midlevel dealer, its price climbs to $19,500. Finally, it is sold by street-level dealers for $78,000
