Shannon Hammer's younger sister Chloe left Lighthouse Cove after high school to make it big in Hollywood. And she did it! For several years now, Chloe has been the co-host of a popular home repair show on the Do-It-Yourself Network. Now, after ten years, Chloe returns to Lighthouse Cove with her crew and co-host to film several shows featuring her sister Shannon, along with some special mini-segments on Victorian style and design.

The latest installment in the Fixer-Upper series includes a little bit of a plot twist.. what will the next book bring?

I started this one yesterday. I‘m already 84 pages in. They‘re so good but they‘re over so quickly!

I took some time out of my to-do list today and went to Barnes and Noble to spend my birthday/Christmas gift cards. This is my #bookhaul!
Two are travel guides for a trip I‘ve been thinking about for years. Twelfth Night for the #ShakespeareReadalong. A yoga meditations book. And four cozy mysteries. One of which is the latest in a series I keep up with (tagged). The others are all new to me. Yay gift cards and rainy days at the book store!

Well my coffee cup has seen better days (it used to be all green - apparently they were serious when they said not to put it in the dishwasher), but I'm loving this book. The Fixer Upper series is one of my favorites. I just wish the Hallmark people had done a better job with the movie version. And picked someone besides Jewel for the lead.

MarriedtoMrT Dishwasher safe is always one of my top coffee mug priorities. 6y
GloVerdino But Colin Ferguson makes those movies worth watching! 6y
Traci1 @MarriedtoMrT for me too (it was a gift). I've had it a couple of years, and use it at least once a week and ALWAYS put it in the dishwasher. So I figure if it's just the color peeling off, it's no big deal. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it being all silver. It'll be like a whole new cup! 😁 6y

Traci1 @GloVerdino I do like the rest of the cast. Just not her. I don't have issues with her personally, she just doesn't fit it for me. I'll still watch them, and I do like Colin Ferguson. 😊 6y
Reviewsbylola 😂😂😂 I avoid washing pretty much anything by hand so I would have gone the dishwasher route too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I'm a big Eureka fan, so you had me at Colin Ferguson. 6y
Traci1 @Reviewsbylola right? It's like clothes that need ironing. If it can't be fixed by a roll through the dryer, it's not worth wearing. 6y
Traci1 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I haven't seen Eureka. Is it worth getting into? 6y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I was hesitant at first to wat h Eureka with it being science-y but my boyfriend wanted to watch it. Turns out it was funny and had some eye candy, too. It is a town of geniuses & Colin becomes their (averagely smart) Sheriff. 6y

Shannon was a great character! It was great to feel Shannon‘s enthusiasm for spending time with her sister, Chloe, & being a part of her sister‘s DIY show. I was glad that Chloe‘s inner turmoil regarding her return to her hometown was discussed early on & that it blended in nicely with the mystery that took place. Shannon as a sleuth was convincing even with some over the top moments. Full review at www.thegenreminx.com #TheGenreMinxBookReviews
