I don't usually read autobiographies but I really enjoyed this. Learning JC's school was fascinating, it sounds like something from a novel. I admire how up front he was about the darker aspects of his life & some of the things he is not particularly proud of. I think it takes real courage to risk your reputation to acknowledge & publish these darker aspects to those who call themselves a fan of his and didn't already know already (me included).
Who doesn‘t like Jackie Chan? He seems so friendly. But I don‘t know what to think of him after reading his book. The first part is a great story of struggle. The second is largely him boasting. Telling the reader how much money he spends on everything even on charity. I‘ve got a feeling if you met him he wouldn‘t be as nice as you‘d expect. Great career. And certainly set the bar for stunts in movies. I‘ll give him that. Read for the 1st part.
The nice version is he has certainly got better as he got older.
He also did some amazing work for and with a lot of charities.
The not so nice version is he is a selfish, rich nasty man who was absolutely horrible to woman and why in God's name did he ever have a child he said it himself he was a bad father and throwing your child!

Well, Feb was a grindingly slow month for me - only 8 books. Hopefully my reading mode will be back this month 😐

Conference all day today, doing an hours presentation this afternoon - the nerves never kick in until the day for me!!
Last finished read of the year.
Jackie is such an amazing character, he has that playful side but he knows when to be professional.
In this book you learn just how much of a human he is.
