this has rly stuck with me, and I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.

#MLK was a brilliant anti-capitalist who believed there was no more convenient season for the revolution than NOW. Some people sanitize his work to preach peace and only peace in the form of civil obedience. They forget there is no peace while white supremacy and colonialism exist. No war but class war ♥️🏴

AmyG I am watching on twitter all those who work so hard to disenfranchise black people post his quotes on peace. 😡 3y

I have my Bingo card for October all ready to go. Am starting with the tagged book - it is neither my bookspin or double bookspin book but I have been wanting to pick it up for a while.

Smarkies @rockpools thanks Rachel! Hoping to get through a decent number this month to hopefully tame my TBR a little before the year end. 😂😂😂 4y

I listened to this on audio, but will probably get a print copy so I can annotate it. I know I‘m late to the party here. It‘s clear that if we had studied this on in school instead of a single snippet from “I Have a Dream” that there‘d be WAY less confusion about King‘s beliefs and work. If, like me, you‘re relearning American History, add this to your TBR list. It‘s a quick but important read.

This little book contains a highly influential and powerful piece of writing in Martin Luther King Jr‘s “Letter From Birmingham Jail”. This is a tiny book at a tiny price so I‘d definitely recommend you pick it up if you haven‘t already read it.

My full review is up on my blog now 📚

A vital historical document and a powerful, eloquent argument for non-violent direct action. Essential reading for anyone interested in the history of the civil rights movement. Excellent narration too.
