Remy has two important people in her life, her best friend Elise, and her boyfriend Jack. One terrible night, Elise shoots and kills Jack. As the police investigate, Remy relives her own memories of her friendship with Elise, and realizes too late how toxic and codependent their relationship really was. This was a page turner!

Although the writing wasn‘t perfect I was very moved by Remy And Elise‘s fast and strong bond over shared tragedy. And I saw in Elise friends I‘ve had to remove from my life because they were toxic having grown up in a toxic environment. Everyone suffers, but it is finding a way to move past it and having a support system to help you that is the key to life.

We believed our wounds made us special. We believed what didn‘t kill us made us stronger. We believed our tragedies were romantic.

At least that‘s what we told ourselves. But that night it was beginning to sound less like an inspirational motto to live by and more like something we had to tell ourselves to survive.

Man of man was this book a wild ride. I was hooked from the first page and didn't want to put it down when I had too. The quote on the front of the book sums this book up really good " Obsession can poison even the sweetest of friendships." Elise was obsessed with Remy and wanted her all to herself. She wanted her to herself so much that it led to murder. I can't want to see what this author writes next. An amazing debut novel!

There is another new book, an adult book, that has been popular on Litsy and has a very similar cover, but it slips my mind what it is (NOT Red, White and Royal Blue). I keep getting these two books confused. However, this one is a YA title, and that one is Adult.

Normally right now it would be hot enough to melt candy, but I'll have to leave that to @Dannyhatten in the middle east, because we are non stop rain.
