A story of star-crossed lovers for Comic-Con fans. Two men create the TomorrowMen, which becomes a media giant, but the artist sells his share early on and legal battles ensue. Their grandchildren meet years later, and their relationship becomes stained as their families' pasts interfere. A decent YA read. Bit of a cheesy ending, but nothing really bad to say. Just very generic, middle of the road read.

Bailing 1.5 hours into this audio. Too repetitive, dialogue lasts too long, not a great narrator and the characters seem way too immature for their ages. Unless she‘s trying to tell us that comic lovers are immature? Hope not. Because I usually enjoy her graphic novels....

Fantastic read! Comics Will Break Your Heart is a love story that transcends family feuds over the legal rights of the TomorrowMen comics and includes a resounding and powerful theme—that comics matter. That great art and a great story can overcome generations of rivalries and disputes. I thought this was a great Romeo and Juliet story for contemporary fiction centered around my favorite medium—comics! Really enjoyed this!

This YA romance between the two teenage heirs to the feuding families who created The Tomorrowmen was cute enough but honestly the whole thing was pretty boring. The slow sleepy pace probably evoked summer in the small Canadian town it‘s set in but it left me feeling like not enough happened to justify the page count.

Cute. I liked it a lot, but doubt it would be a re-read. A nice, quiet read for summer, though! 🌟🌟🌟 1/2

So excited to be reading this book! I‘ve enjoyed Hicks‘s graphic novels; this is her first prose novel.

I loved this book 😍 it was sweet and heartfelt and I‘m really glad that it ended how it did. Miriam and Weldon were flawed characters dealing with a bunch of crap from their families, and they had to navigate that while falling in love. I love comics too so this was easy subject matter for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a super sweet book! The characters were wonderful and the small town nova scotia setting was lovingly detailed and I felt very much transported into this story. It's a lovely ode to comics, small towns, family, and growing up.

This book has been on my library TBR shelf since I first got it as a library hold after it was published. I left work early yesterday because of not feeling well, and my excitement for free comic book day helped me decide that this was the next book to read! It's a lovely, sweet read thus far, and I am glad to see Faith Erin Hicks expanding her creative endeavors! I love her work in general 💖 #amreading #ya

Characters 5* - the two main characters were a delight

Writing 5*- it might not be the most beautiful writing but it gets the point across.

Pace 5* - this had a steady pace throughout and I loved it.
