Not my favorite, but a solid fantasy! Though I‘ll say I prefer The Bear and the Nightingale, which covers similar themes, to this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes you don't need a lengthy story to make an impact. This small, seemingly unremarkable book ended up being the exact opposite. Incredibly detailed and insightful. With fascinating characters and a layer of magic that is both believable and extraordinary. This saga continues, and I hope to read more of it, someday. 😊😁❤️📚
This book won a ton of rewards. I read it about 20 years ago, but I didn‘t really like it I only gave it 2/5 Stars on Goodreads, which is quite rare for me. I‘m in the minority definitely, and since I don‘t really remember much about the book maybe I ought to reread it one day...

Searching my shelves for numerical titles for this challenge has made me far more aware of how many books on my shelves are still waiting to be read! #NovemberbytheNumbers #7
Hopefully I can get some quality time with this book today, but for now this... I have an important exam this morning. #nerdygirl #determined #focused #Igotthis 😊😁👾💪🖤💟👍
This fantasy based alternate history drew me in immediately with its peculiar characters and questions about good and evil and the nature of the powers-that-be in this world. The only thing troubling me is that I don't have the rest of the series yet, so I have to wait to read more!
I may be stuck working a long day today, but it hasn't been a particularly busy one, so I'm glad I brought this #TBR because I'm almost done with my current book!

Just came to the end without realizing it was happening! I was well into this one so it's not a full book finished, but it's a good start on the day. And now, breakfast! 😊 #readathon @DeweysReadathon
I don't know if it's related, but as someone who only speaks one language fluently who traveled to a place where folks have every right to feel oppressed by that (my) language's being taken for granted, I'm really noticing pacing and speed of speech in audiobooks. One of the narrators here speaks far more quickly than others, but this is the first I've noticed it. Mercury, or some other imp?
I loved the Ender series when I read them in college, so I went into this one thinking that it would likely be good stuff - and it definitely is. Very much good enough that I plan on continuing with the series.
Another re-read of a book I haven't read in a million years! Enjoyed it just as much the second time around! I think I will re-read the whole series!
