Imagine turning up to your own party, and recognising no one. Your best friend has just created your worst nightmare. Louisa is an exhausted, sleep-deprived new mother and, approaching her fortieth birthday, the very last thing she wants to do is celebrate. But when her best friend Tiff organises a surprise party, inviting the entire list of Lou's Facebook friends, she's faced with a new source of anxiety altogether: a room full of old college classmates who she hasn't spoken to in twenty years. And one person in particular she never expected to see again is there - her ex-boyfriend from college, the handsome and charismatic Oliver Dunmore. When Oliver's wife Melissa goes missing after the party, everyone remembers what happened that night differently. It could be the alcohol, but it seems more than one person has something to hide. Louisa is determined to find the truth about what happened to Melissa. But just how far does she need to look...? One simple Facebook invitation unfolds into something both tragic and monstrous; a story of obsessive love, breath-taking deception and masterful manipulation.

It was so cool to get the book back and see everyone's notes in it! I agree with y'all, this book started off strong then -- fizzled a bit.

But overall a great experience! Thank you, ladies!

Mediocre thriller with an annoying and daft protagonist. This has an interesting plot, but was executed poorly with amateur writing, ludicrous character choices, an underwhelming twist, and absurd ending. A very quick read, but I only kept going because I was on vacation and in a generous mood. I also really disliked the portrayal of the protagonist as a “crazy” postpartum woman. As some one that had PP anxiety, I found that really gross. 2⭐️

Pickpick

Without being too specific since there‘s still 2 people in #LMPBC Group M left to read it and you‘ll get all my opinions 😅

This was very entertaining…
There‘s a *few* things about the characters‘ behavior that seemed odd & unlikely. But it was a fun read!

ElizaMarie Ooo glad you liked it :) 12mo

Pickpick

So overall, I will say this is a “pick“ the ending (although something I wasn't expecting) didn't really have the punch. Maybe it did. Maybe not, not sure; it's one of those when you all read it, you will see what I mean. This is my first time participating in #LMPBC it was interesting to “mark up“ this type of book, but it was “fun“. Can't wait to see what yall think #GroupM

I started this one today for the #LMPBC #GroupM read. I have never really “marked up“ a book of this type (usually only note take on: NonFiction, Self-Help, Literature for School/Education stuff). So this is interesting. Not sure how much/how little to mark. Its a new word for me!

Pickpick

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, right up to the final pages when it lost me a bit. The suspense was building and I was wondering where it was going but it sort of petered out a little and although I still give it a pick there were a few loose ends which I thought should have been attended to. I have read quite a few stories lately with the lead characters having chunks of time missing so it didn‘t compare as well as others for me. #NetGalley
