Macbeth
Macbeth: A True Story | Fiona Watson
5 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Thanks to Shakespeare, the name Macbeth has become a byword for political ambition realised by bloody violence. The reality is that Macbeth quickly established himself as an effective and popular ruler. As a Celtic warrior-king, he was responsible for the maintenance of his people's dominance of northern Britain.

Pickpick

4 1/2 🌟 for this #NFNov book. @rsteve388 @Clwojick

Fun fact: I like matching my books with relevant bookmarks, so the witch bookmark I received from @TrishB was my obvious choice here!

#lmpbc @jhod @Libby1 the first part is a bit of a slog and time-consuming, but it picks up in part 2! I won't blame you if you decide to bail on it. Jessica, I'll send it when a) my Crohn's settles down, and b) when I get some Xmas paper for your presents! 😊

jenniferw88 +1 participation = 37 +5 for completion of book = 42pts 5y
TrishB Love matching book marks 🧙‍♀️ 5y

#TIL that Duncan's death occurred quite differently to how it's depicted in Shakespeare's play! #NFNov @rsteve388 @Clwojick

32 +3 = 35 +1 = 36pts

@Cinfhen @julesG this is the equivalent screen on the LibraryThing website if you have a duplicate. (Sometimes the writing is in green but it basically means the same thing).

julesG I struggle with the reviews on the LT website 5y
jenniferw88 @julesG ah, ok. I tend not to have that problem as I just rate the books by stars - I only write reviews for books that I use for the group I'm in on Goodreads. 5y
LibrarianRyan @julesG I post mine there but I don't really like how each version of a book is it's own page so it may recognize you have a duplicate on your shelf, but only keep your review on one of them. 5y

@Cinfhen @julesG this is what comes up on my app for LibraryThing if I try to add a book that I already own. I also like the fact that for physical books on the app I can just scan the barcode.

julesG Thanks! That's definitely better than Goodreads or Litsy. I have quite a lot of doubles in my lists. 5y
julesG PS I think you can scan with the Goodreads app, too. 5y
jenniferw88 @julesG you can, but I think it's the LibraryThing app that makes a noise when it's added, which reassures me, plus I find it easier to add multiple books at a time. It's time-consuming but worth it in the long run. 5y

Cinfhen It‘s going to be a rainy day activity for me @julesG @jenniferw88 although I‘m more interested in cataloging my kindle books and TBR owned and TBR wish list 5y
jenniferw88 @Cinfhen I must admit that LibraryThing isn't the best for kindle books and for separating tbr books 🙁 5y
