I really enjoyed this book, but calling it even a loose adaptation of S&S is a stretch. True, it centers on two sisters with a deceased father (the elder sister is the oddest Elinor/Marianne hybrid and the younger is vaguely Elinorish) but that's pretty much it on the similarities. I wound up liking it a lot, and if YA is your bag, this one is a lovely coming-of-age story. But #PemberLittens, beware! There's not much of the Dashwood about it.

A contemporary and loose YA of Sense and Sensibility, two vastly different sisters are trying to find their places in the world, separate from the expectations of their parents and each other.

This was a sweet story, but it fell a bit flat to me. Characters didn‘t have a lot of depth, and I wanted more after the ending, more of the sisters understanding each other better. I liked how the romance didn‘t overwhelm the rest of the story. 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

#PemberLittens Finally finished this one last night-now I can turn my Kindle off airplane mode again & not lose it back to the library!😉YA Sense and Sensibility modernization & a bit of a slow start for me but I came to really enjoy it & especially loved Plum, the younger sister but the Elinor in this book—putting up with the histrionics of her older sister Ginny & the downturn in family finances. Smart, witty & very book & literature leaning.💙

I am liking this YA Sense and Sensibility modernization but I am having trouble squeezing in time to read & to read it among other books. Still I‘m about halfway through it so hopefully I‘ll finish this week.

The book is one of my current reads for #PemberLittens —it‘s a YA modernization of Sense and Sensibility. A bit slow to start but I am hopeful it will pick up as it got good reviews.

Love love love 💕 it had a splash of Jane Austen and a healthy heaping of Gilmore Girls-esque humor! It was inviting, warm, and made me want to live in their lives for a while longer. Definitely recommend!

I have never been good at beginnings, which is one of my many shortcomings.

What a nice surprise this book was. This book goes much deeper than a typical YA novel, IMO. Plum is a sophomore in a private school, is not that popular, but dealing with an over-achieving sister and a mother who has some of her own issues and a boy that maybe she has feelings for. I felt like I was in the mind of a teenage girl and the own voices really helped.
