All cat stories start with this statement: “My mother, who was the first cat, told me this...”
I don‘t care what everyone says, damaging books is worse than damaging people. People heal up. Books never do. The marks always show.
A deeper truth exists, waiting to be found... inviting me to go every direction at once, and none.
Agatha was a connoisseur of headaches, and was relieved at the transitory nature of this one.
I really enjoyed returning to this dark world.
“Girl Waits with Gun” has been on my TBR since before its release and I finally made my way to it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fictionalized account of three real sisters.
Stewart did an amazing job of bringing these three very different women to life.
The pacing was spot on, keeping me turning the pages to find out what would happen next.
I can‘t wait to read the next installment in the Kopp Sisters series!
I loved this book! It was creepy, compelling and wonderfully paced. I highly recommend it!
I picked this up because people keep comparing it to Agatha Christie.
It kept me reading late into the night two evenings in a row.
I really enjoyed it, giving 4 out of 5 stars.
“Salem is in part a story of what happens when a set of unanswerable questions meets a set of unquestioned answers.”
I don‘t read a lot of true crime but had heard really amazing things about this one.
It was fascinating and terrifying.
While it was not flawless, I think that was probably because the author passed away before it was finished.
I would still recommend it to anyone interested in true crime — although I think everyone else has already read it. 😁
While the third installment was a little different than the first two, I am still really enjoying it.
I definitely recommend this series for SciFi fans.
I loved this book!
I listened to the audio (read by the author) and was utterly captivated.
Reichl has such a way with words and makes you feel like a friend.
If you love good writing and food this is a must read!
I enjoyed this while at the same time feeling like something was missing.
It never fully capture my attention but was filled with interesting information about the history of books as physical objects.
The narration was solid but somehow I still found my mind wandering to other things.
I plan on reading it again in the future because it could just be my headspace at the moment.
Finished “Magic for Liars” this morning.
It‘s an interesting mix of old-fashioned noir and magic school fantasy.
I‘m still processing my feeling before I rate it.
I‘m getting in the mood for the new season of “Stranger Things.”
Really enjoying this novel so far!
I have never been good at beginnings, which is one of my many shortcomings.
This whole state of affairs was nothing short of a disaster. Frowning, Lydia plopped—very unladylike—onto the firm morning room settee.
Disaster. Her father would not appreciate the word‘s use—too much emotion, smacked of an indecent amount of sensibility.
