The quick office cleanup turned into organizing my books 😅 All the books I‘ve received in the past year have been randomly piled on a shelf so I finally re-organized my bookshelves to include them. It took some finagling but they‘re there (We‘re just going to ignore that some of them had to be placed out of order to fit.)
I‘m going to say it, this was... under-well-ming! 🤦🏻♀️😂 Sorry! Couldn‘t help myself. This was alright and kept me mostly interested, but was a fairly basic whodunnit. I felt the author chose the easiest option in the end and the most interesting part- the drought- wasn‘t explored in a satisfying way. Some interesting concepts and some irredeemably flawed characters. A decent debut. (Image by Curepi on DeviantArt)
Dystopian books, bookmarks, art supplies, chocolate, matte lipstick and stuff for Gambit? These are a few of my favourite things 🎶 💜 @TheKidUpstairs this is amazing. I‘d never heard of The Well or The Blondes and I‘m so excited about that, and to finally get to read Ready Player One! The bookmarks are perfect AND THOSE WINSOR&NEWTON MARKERS! holy crap! #DystopianBlues
Only went and left Oryx & Crake at work 🙄. So I‘ve started a new eBook instead. I was adamant I would wasn‘t going to get on board with eBooks, but they‘re just so darn convenient. I‘m a convert! We have a subscription to BorrowBox at my library and it‘s actually great. I fancied something psychological so going to give this a whirl.
Half way through but still no talk of scientists on the land trying to find out why? Only 3 guards? Hmmm the world seems much more polite than what I would imagine. Maybe it's the point of view
#day22 #lyricalapril #earthsong I've had this on my TBR for a while (I think I heard about it from The Richard and Judy Bookclub in the UK)... it sounds intriguing... a terrible drought has hit modern-day Britain, except for one mysterious location... which leads to suspicions, chaos and violence. Blurb says it channels 'Margret Atwood and Gillian Flynn'! .... Anyone read this?
