Double Fudge Brownie Murder
Double Fudge Brownie Murder | Joanne Fluke
13 posts | 25 read | 11 to read
Life in tiny Lake Eden, Minnesota, is usually pleasantly uneventful. Lately, though, it seems everyone has more than their fair share of drama--especially the Swensen family. With so much on her plate, Hannah Swensen can hardly find the time to think about her bakery--let alone the town's most recent murder. . Hannah is nervous about the upcoming trial for her involvement in a tragic accident. She's eager to clear her name once and for all, but her troubles only double when she finds the judge bludgeoned to death with his own gavel--and Hannah is the number one suspect. Now on trial in the court of public opinion, she sets out in search of the culprit and discovers that the judge made more than a few enemies during his career. With time running out, Hannah will have to whip up her most clever recipe yet to find a killer more elusive than the perfect brownie. . .

Another fun, fast read in this cozy series. Hannah has almost as many men proposing to her as there are recipes in the book. 🤣🤣🤣

While Hannah is waiting outside the judge‘s chambers to discuss the case against her (from the last book), she hears a thud. Investigation reveals the judge has been murdered and Hannah is “off and running “ to track down his murderer. In the process she adds another love interest to her life….will he be the one?

My big has the stomach bug and being home nursing him back to health has been good for my reading. Finished a #TeamSlaughter buddy read last night. I wasn‘t attached; not to the characters or the plot. So much was far away from the murder side of it that I forgot that it was even a thing. I kept willing Hannah to just MAKE UP HER MIND. Didn‘t hate it, didn‘t love it, it happens. Solving the crime fit 10/10‘s #ScarathonDailyPrompt though! 👏🏼

So, I had a graduate professor say that there are two kinds of literature: one with capital L and one with lowercase l. Capital L is classical, life changing literature. Lowercase l is fun, fluffy, light. Now, as I have perused this app, I am hoping lowercase l literature is acceptable for reviews. I love Joanne Fluke‘s stories! This is the one I am currently reading. Fun and light and lots of recipes!

My daughter likes to listen to audio books at night. I grabbed this one for her at the library a few days ago. Today she baked brownies for the family. #CouldNotHavePlannedThatBetterIfIHadTried

Today's author spotlight: Joanne Fluke. While pursuing her writing career, she's worked as a school teacher, a psychologist, a musician, a private detective‘s assistant, a corporate secretary, a short-order cook, a florist‘s assistant, a caterer & party planner, a computer consultant on a now-defunct operating system, a production assistant on a TV quiz show, & half of a screenwriting team with her husband. 😆👌🏻 #AuthorPotpourri #TheMoreYouKnow

Bought a few paperback mysteries, the illustrated Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone, and two local self published novels (The Keeper of Time by Adam J. Kugler, and The Chosen Historian by Randi Ertz) at Burlington By The Book in Burlington, Iowa. Such a cute store and AWESOME owner. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Joriebooks I miss Iowa. I live in Georgia now but want to move back sometime. 8y
AllenTStClair @Joriebooks Iowa is a beautiful state! Of course, Georgia is, too! 😉 8y

There is something about a mystery, dramatic romance, and the divine deliciousness of baked goods that make reading so much fun (and cravings so much worse!). 😋Seriously, check out her series (and recipes). But proceed with caution! LOL 🍪🍰#Baketober #JoanneFluke

I'm really not sure why I keep reading this series. Hannah's annoying, the love triangle gets more and more ridiculous - and more complicated, but spoilers - and the mysteries plod along until suddenly, they're solved out of the blue. (The recipes. I'm here for the recipes. And Moishe the cat.)
