pickThis was an interesting gothic read, but it‘s not one of my favorites. I didn‘t feel as strong of a sense of ominous suspense through much of the middle of the book as I expected, and when I did towards the end, it wrapped up fairly quickly. I also wanted a bit more explanation of connections between characters.

Two of my favourite #IrishWriters. Sheridan Le Fanu and Bram Stoker.
Continuing my #halloweenreads with some gothic suspense. I have this in audio as well which I will be switching to this afternoon to get my workout in and some chores done.
Some of the books I've set aside to read/finish the rest of October. Plus Roses & Rot and Lair of Dreams. They seem like they will get me about as much in he Halloween spirit as I will get.
A title that's been in my TBR for a while and seems like a good October read choice. Anyone know the artwork on the Penguin edition? I think it wants to steal my soul or something. I'm not afraid of a book cover. Nope. Not me.
Here is my horror pick for the @bookriot Read Harder Challenge. I haven't visited Le Fanu since college, but I'm expecting this to be a fun late night read.
