The #1 New York Times bestselling author presents a riveting novel of a canine Search and Rescue volunteer who fights danger and finds love in the Pacific Northwest wilderness. To most people, Fiona Bristow seems to have an idyllic lifea quaint house on an island off Seattles coast, a thriving dog-training school and a challenging volunteer job performing Canine Search and Rescue. Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare. Several years ago, Fiona was the only survivor of the Red Scarf Killer, who shot and killed Fionas cop fianc and his K-9 partner. On Orcas Island, Fiona has found the peace and solitude necessary to rebuild her life. But all that changes on the day Simon Doyle barrels up her drive, desperate for her help. Hes an intensely private wood artist and the reluctant owner of an out-of-control puppy named Jaws. As Fiona embarks on training Jaws, and Simon begins to appreciate both dog and trainer, the past tears back into Fionas life. A copycat killer has emerged out of the shadows, a man whose bloodlust has been channeled by a master with one motive: to reclaim the woman who slipped out of his hands . . .

As ever, I love the competence - in this case Fiona trains search and rescue dogs. But Simon, the woodworker artist hero is overbearing and grouchy and just...a jerk which I did not find as attractive as Fiona. Add scenes in the head of a serial killer that were jarring and ugly and this one doesn't make the keeper shelf. Even if I do love that Fee names her dogs after classic movie stars (Peck, Bogart and Newman)

That feeling when you check a book out of the library and aren‘t sure if you‘ve read it or not, but figure if you can‘t remember then it would be like reading it fresh all over again.

I am on a mini Nora Roberts binge read. The Search is several years old, but I missed it when it came out. A solid read but not one of Roberts‘ best. The main character is targeted by a serial killer but the fear/tension didn‘t come through. Maybe too many secondary characters? Lots of attention on training dogs especially for Search and Rescue. A nice read for a quiet weekend.

Sticking with audiobooks for now due to sore eyes & head. Yes, it‘s another Nora Roberts, I kind of bought a few after liking Under Currents so much🤷🏻‍♀️I can‘t be the only one that is compelled to get the backlist of a newly discovered author! Am I? #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter 1point #PointsTotal-269

SoapboxEdits I loved this book! It was my first Nora Roberts and I had to do a few back issues, too. You‘re in good company! 😁 5y

Watching Nailed It- Holiday and audiobook narrator Tanya Eby popped up as a contestant!!! Since it seems she narrates a lot of romance novels, I wasn't familiar with the name but still a cool tidbit!!!

I normally choose Nora Roberts books when I want to read an easy-to-read-steamy-sex novel. They are typical romance novels, and generally don't have too many surprises. This one seemed to drag on and on. It could've easily been half of what it was. I said so-so only because of then unnecessary length, though over all I very much enjoyed the plot, characters and obviously, the location. Orcas Island is next to my island

♡ Happy Reading!

#thesearch by #noraroberts is pretty 😂 when the 🐶 name Jaws always steal the main characters limelight. The suspense is not much but it's pretty interesting for me. #ebook #romanticsuspense

#seasonsreadings2016 I love Nora Roberts 😊 The Search is one her standalone books set on an island off the Seattle coast. The other two are from her Three Sister Island series. My dream is to live on an island with endless reading material. Nora helps fuel that dream.

This was my first "romantic suspense." I'm still exploring romance genres, and I've only read a few by Ms. Roberts, but this was fun (well, not the creepy serial killer bits but YKWIM). Plus, I learned about how canine search and rescue units work, which in itself was worth it for this dog lover!

Sad this has been such a slow reading week - I feel like I need a break from adulting 😐. Time for a little romantic suspense - with dogs!! 🐕🐕🐕
