Short and a decent intro into her life. Ended up listening to it on audiobook and the sound effects were a little much.

This short audiobook is a great introduction to the life and work of the iconic primatologist Jane Goodall. Especially well suited to a young audience, the audio includes sound effects that bring Jane Goodall‘s story to life. This definitely got me interested in learning more! Thanks to Libro.fm for the free listening copy!

I always enjoy hearing more from Jane Goodall. This is a short memoir from her earlier years and it was nice because you received more details her beginnings in Africa than you do in other books by here. I really enjoyed the story about the lions at their campsite and the call to action at the end about the need for conservation and environmental change. Quick read and worth the listen.

1. What we have is “Chimp Haven,” a sanctuary for rescued & retired chimps, many of them used laboratories. (I‘m very proud of this place, as you can tell!)
2. Yes, about 3 years ago (Shame on me!)
3. Koala bears 🐻 I love them!
4. Yes—giraffes, dolphins & raccoons (do raccoons 🦝 count?)

Who else is thinking about Halloween?
I tried to convince my husband Ad(d)am that we should go as Wednesday & Pugsley... but he wouldn't agree to be Wednesday. 😂 And if I can't have my dream of seeing a bearded Wednesday, I want no part of it!
Now I'm choosing between: Charlie Bucket, Baa Baa Black Sheep/The Black Sheep of the Family, Jane Goodall, and/or Coraline. Decisions, decisions!
