I listened to this final book in the series on audible. I enjoyed the series and the ending.

Finally book in the trilogy which I‘m sad to have finished as I love all the books and the film.

After reading Every Day this book is the story I craved. In the audiobook the story is read by a full cast which I loved. This story goes even deeper into gender exploration at times. The main focus to me was the drive to determine who we are not by what we were born as but the actions we take. I found it to be a great end to the series.

Book 17. Solid sequel to Another Day, though not as compelling for me as the first. If you liked the first book you'll like seeing how things end.
For those unfamiliar, the series follows A, a soul who wakes up in a new borrowed body each day, and Rhiannon, the girl who builds a connection with A.

Mehso-so

Levithan‘s book Every Day is lovely and I just loved it so much. Read the companion Another Day and despised it; I should have learned and left this alone. It was ok but just felt so slow and long-winded; there were giant swaths of speeches and what felt like monologues from the characters and nothing felt real or organic. Still not a fan of Rhiannon and being in her head. A was fine but I wanted more from them. Lackluster. Blah. Meh.

thevictoriousone That‘s unfortunate. I have that one and have been meaning to read it for ages. 6y
Zelma @thevictoriousone you might love it. I‘m just very contrary! (And there is some good stuff in this one. It just didn‘t work for me as well as the first one.) (edited) 6y

Not a perfect book, but good enough to be enjoyable. I really liked the first one, so I was excited for the first one, but it didn't grab me at first. I slowly got into it. I know that the random people's perspectives were included to show that A and X weren't the only ones like this, but I didn't find that they added anything to the story. Though Liam and Peter's story was sweet. What happened with X was a little questionable.

David Levithan‘s sequel to Every Day is just as, if not more, incredible and emotional than the first. I love how he expanded the world and introduced new characters while still keeping the whole story focused. I also love how he frames the introspective questions and doesn‘t hit us over the head with lore about A‘s condition. All the stars🌟

Loved, loved, loved it!
It was a little bit longer than necessary. But otherwise, this is a great sequel to Every Day.

And now I want more! I thought I could be happy to walk away from A at the end of this. But no - I need more! I hope Levithan isn‘t done with this, ‘cos I‘m sure not.

David Levithan created a world in "Every Day" where the narrator, by unknown factors, body-jumps into a different person each day. It was an interesting balance of a little sci fi (why do they jump, etc) and lots of thoughtful examination of identity.
Now, our narrator is grappling with their responsibility to the people they visit, and I admire Levithan's ability to illustrate each new life every day, painting a full picture with few words.

“Take two queer, bookish teenagers and give them the run of a literary festival—we might as well have been strolling on the Left Bank in Paris, for all the enraptured thoughts that rose into our queer, bookish hearts.”

This book! ❤️❤️❤️

This breaks my heart a little. I now picture young A figuring out the do‘s and don‘t‘s that would help him navigate life.

The perfect ending. So many people and so many things going on. But I loved it. Once I met Peter and Liam I needed more of them. And I got exactly what I wanted. 😍😍 This book ... It was just wonderful.

In the middle of this book. It is so completely different than the first 2. @APLitlife I told you Id get back to you on this. So here it is. Im halfway done and loving it! There are so many different perspectives in this book. We get it from A, Rhiannon, Nathan, somebody named X & a few other body travelers. Plus some email exchanges, and texts from someone called M. It's amazing. I love how David expanded the universe to something so believable.

APLitlife Thank you! I will definitely pick it up. 6y

I get in much of my reading in the mornings, before the 3 year old is up. It's darker each morning now when I sit down, and getting to see the sunrise feels like a sweet little added bonus.

This sequel moved a bit slowly, but wasn‘t bad. It‘s somewhere in between pick and so-so for me.

Bought a couple books today! You should check out my thoughts on them all! Lookingglassbookshop.com

APLitlife Read Everyday, felt this one would just be repetitive. Was it? 6y
RyeAnnUh @APLitlife I just picked it up so I'm not sure yet. But I would think it would take place after high school to keep it from being repetitive. But it's the next one on my list so I'll be sure to let you know. 6y
