I had no real expectations for this going in. I saw it mentioned in a review for something else I was considering reading and decided on a whim to read this instead. Honestly, it was great. And consistently great at that. There‘s not a single story I didn‘t like.

This story collection is one I had early from the #graywolfgalleyclub but saved for #spooktober - most are set in the PNW, Oregon or Alaska, familiar settings for me, making the horrors even scarier. One story had a pandemic! Some are gory while some are closer to the weird. All unsettling!

This was a collection of short stories. I don't have anything good to say about this one. I found these stories to be dark but not in a good way. The characters were all cringey and horrible and I had to bail about 2 stories short of finishing.

Lucky for me it's cool for kids my daughter's age to meet up at the library and play games together. I found this one to read while she visited with friends
The cover drew me in with promises of creepiness but so far I'm finding the stories to be more gross and depressing than anything. š¤·š¸¼ā€¨ā™€ļø¸

Hooked_on_books @LeahBergen Yes, I tried to be very restrained. It‘s hard there! They really should provide chaperones, but they laugh at me when I tell them that. I‘m actually pretty proud of myself, even though I dug the hole a bit deeper on my resolution. 4y

Suspense, for sure, but I wish more details would be explained. He could have developed characters and angles instead of merely mentioning them.

This is my favourite short story collection I‘ve read this year. Suicide Woods and The Uncharted were VERY good. My main issue with some of the earlier stories in the collection is they felt too short.
