Welcome to Litsy!

My first time overcoming my anxiety about baking in my new(ish) flat! I hate shared kitchens, I‘m not sure why, and it‘s so hard making myself cook. I‘m lucky my boyfriend doesn‘t mind cooking for me as I do all the laundry but I really hope this one going so well will mean I feel able to do it more in future. It‘s a practice for his grandads birthday cake at the weekend.

Well this was meant to be a big reading evening but went a bit wrong in the end so I‘m at just about 5 hrs. My bf tries to go back to our flat in London but got locked out so I had to make a two hour round trip from my parents house to open the door... less reading than I hoped to manage. But I did make this beautiful peach upside down cake from my new Mary Berry book!

Been spending a lot of time flipping through my new Mary Berry book of how to cook absolutely everything so I decided to cover it in brown paper - this way I can get tomato on it and not worry! My mum lent me the brown paper and it‘s perfect for this, I want to make it last as long as I can so one day it can be as old and much loved as my mums trusty Delia Smith book.
