Pickpick

The thing I love most about Beverly Jenkins' romance novels is that they come with a history lesson attached. I loved learning about the network of Black spies dispatched in the South during the war and Reconstruction.

Per usual, the characters were interesting; the banter was witty. This novel has the added layer of a New Orleans setting. Perfect finish to #DiverseAThon.

Chugging along. Book four of #DiversAThon. Feeling the #Romance on this Friday afternoon.

Foxyfictionista Whoa, that cover!! I used to read a lot of romance when I was much much much younger. Maybe I should pick something up again. I've never read this author. 7y
WhatDeeReads @Foxyfictionista IKR! I like romance novels a lot. Happy endings. Beverly Jenkins is exceptional. Her novels are enlightening as well as... uh... the other stuff 🔥😜. I recommend her highly. 7y

Beverly Jenkins is a genius.

Jenkins pulled in the true story of Harriet Tubman and her Civil War spies this romance novel. I tap out. I'm floored.

Trying to tear through some romance novels I've had sitting around. It's all I can manage, in terms of focus.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I've heard this one was really good, knowing that part of the story I need to move it up my list. 😉. And I completely understand...I've been focusing on a lot of comics, short stories, poetry, basically anything that works with a shorter focus. 7y
WhatDeeReads @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yeah, I have a couple categories to get through for Read Harder and I just can't get through them. Biographies, dystopian, over 500 pages. It's just too much. Maybe in December. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Lucky_Ladee I was just looking at what I have left to read for that too! 7y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa For dystopian I read Ready Player One, it was very good and went fast...so also distracting. It's also good on audiobook if you are interested in audios. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa So basically it counts but it a fun read. 7y
Buddys_Momma Love that cover. I'm not a big romance novel fan but I may need to check that one out! 7y
WhatDeeReads @Buddys_Momma Beverly Jenkins is not your average romance novel writer. They are so accurate and interesting. And totally 🔥🔥🔥. 7y
