Adult on child sexual abuse is a hard pass for me, especially if that‘s what the whole second half is going to revolve around. DNF at 52%. #doublespin 💔😢

My #bookspin and #doublespin, and some of the other books I‘m choosing from. I‘m thinking of doing a bingo board for the first time in months, too!
I‘m already ⅓ into Good Mother, which is a #roll100 choice, and Lake House is for #AuthorAMonth! 👍🏻🎉
Here are the books I‘d like to get to for this year‘s last #roll100. The bottom three are audiobooks. I was hoping for some Sue Miller! So far, I‘ve finished 29 books and DNFed a few more. 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks @PuddleJumper !! 😁❄️
Anna Dunlap was raised to be a good daughter but she failed to meet her mother's expectations. She fails too at being a good wife when she realizes her marriage is empty. What remains is to be a good mother, but that is also called into question after Anna develops a passionate relationship & must fight for custody of her daughter. A patient & careful character study that exposes the brutal sterility at the core of trying to be a good [blank].
Anna and Brian decide to divorce with Anna retaining custody of Molly. When Anna later gets involved with Leo and starts to blossom sexually in a way she never did before, a sequence of events takes place revealing the hypocrisy of the treatment of women in our society. I thought this was really good. Miller focuses in on just a few characters in a way that really works.
